  1. I have a couple of older ones and they work good and smooth. The only drawback is their weight. I have a 200 Tatula and it's 3 oz lighter. Also a 2500 is, IMO, way too big for an ultra light and 4 lb line.
  2. 3m 77 is easy to find and it works.
  3. As many of us would like to fish with you. Me included.
  4. to the Rainbow River this morning. We caught upwards of 30 bass, mostly small but with several larger units. Used worms with light line knowing the river is extremely clear. If you could see the fish they wouldn't bite. He is a large guy and his fish is larger than mine.
  5. NGK BUHW-2 #5526 is no longer available. What is everyone using instead? 1987 Mercury Classic 50.
  6. My 50ah lithium weighs less than 13lbs. That's the reason I changed from a 70lb deep cycle battery to this one. If you're hidden, a solar charger would keep you from transporting the battery.
  7. I run mine as low as conditions allow and still keep moving.
  8. My wife says all you guys should stay away from skirts, unless invited.
  9. Kadota and Cupri
  10. Threw a worm in the pond late this morning a few times and had a bite. When I felt better, a couple of years ago, I'd go to the river or lake and bring home a limit of bass and stock the pond all winter. We had otters then but haven't seen them for a couple of years. Can see why they're called black bass.
  11. I've been using Okuma spinning reels for a number of years starting with a Helios now an RTX. They used to be the lightest reel that didn't cost $200.
  12. I have never taken more than 2 rods so it doesn't matter. One in my hand and the other next to my seat.
  13. I've had an '87 Grumman 16' bass boat for about 5 years or so and use it several times a week. It has a Merc Classic 50 on the back. My problem is it shakes with any chop on the water. The console and the whole floor shakes. I can plane at a slower speed to smooth it out but wonder if I can inject Great Stuff under the floor to keep the shaking down. The hull is the shape of a Tracker.
  14. Nothing wrong with that one; you'll get her.
  15. We can't wait until you get out in your canoe and slay them; either can you.
  16. Just found this picture. Taken in the late 70s early 80s probably @ Lake Castaic or Piru with our daughter.
  17. Haven't been fishing at all this week and had a chance today for about 3 hours. Went to a canal on the river that I haven't been to this winter. They sprayed the whole canal recently and the vegetation hasn't grown back in most places but there was some and I caught 3 bass and 2 rock bass all on a worm.
  18. I have a 45lb Motorguide on my 16' tin bassboat and fish rivers. I've never not been able to go upstream so go for it.
  19. Just looked through Amazon for lithium batteries and found this. $123 for a 100ah lifepo4 battery. 3 years ago I paid $300 for a 50ah lithium and a 10a charger. I don't have to charge it but every 3rd day I use it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DP6WNN96/ref=syn_sd_onsite_desktop_0?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_plhdr=t&aref=mynDZUBfI7&th=1
  20. Up until last year I kayak fished in rivers, always downhill and have a boat for places I can fish comfortably. The most rods I took in the kayak were 2 with all my tackle in my PFD. Launching and retrieving the boat aren't a problem, it's walking to the parking lot and back for me.
  21. Rarely go more than 10 miles either in GA or FL. Run 20-24 mph if the lake is smooth otherwise 14-15 to be comfortable. 16' bass type boat with an '86 50 hp Merc engine, about 5 mpg.
  22. That blank is over twice the cost of the blank I used.
  23. I keep a Frog Toggs poncho in my kayak. It covers my whole body and arms. 100% of rain I'll stay home.
  24. Many years ago I was on a jetty in S Calif and another fisherman walked up to me with a jig through his ear. A west coast jig is a cast metal 2-6 oz piece of metal with treble hooks like a diamond jig. I bent the barb down and removed it.
