  1. the one thing holding me back from boat fishing ?
  2. Honestly, I'm surprised that it's taken as long as it has to market to teens and younger audiences in the fishing world. The googans saw an opportunity and went with it. You made a great point about having the latest swag, but this has been going on for years with every pro angler wearing endless amounts of brands on every inch of their body, boat, tackle, truck, etc.
  3. Although I prefer the 19 look over the 18 models, I wasn't exactly looking to upgrade from my 14 Z71. My 14 had a 7.5" lift and 22s with 35s on it. It was a tank! I must admit that the new one rides so much smoother than the old one though ? Edit: The reason I got the 19 is due to my transfer case and tranny starting to slip ? I did have a few issues with the 14, but I bought it well-used (100k miles when I got it). I had to fix the AC, compressor and condenser. That was a headache to do on my own, but I'm a DIY'er through and through. The 2020 hd models are catching my eye, but I know most people disregard the new look.
  4. just traded in a 14 z71 for this 19
  5. Sheesh, I know! @Choporoz This is just what I used the cabelas gift card for from the in-laws! I recently got into the paddle baits, if you couldn't tell lol
  6. This year I have. I'm a slow technique learner, meaning that I only use one technique to get it down before I try other techniques. I recently stocked up on plastics
  7. You have to admit the production quality of their vids has gotten better over the years. They are annoying, but that's what is demanded from them these days. I've lost interest, as many others have stated, due to the capitalist direction they've taken. But if not them, then some other select group of bro-dudes would be doing it. Even their name is annoying as f***. I will say the hunting trip that LFG made to New Zealand was of great quality.
  8. This past Saturday I was bank fishing at the city lake, which is fairly over-fished, when gunshots came from a house nearby. I couldn't see the house or who was firing, but I hit the ground after hearing the bullets fly through the trees. That was startling to say the least, especially with how busy that lake is. Back in March, I was fishing the local large lake when I lost my best spinnerbait right at the bank. The next day I got hung up in the same spot, catching my line from the day before and my spinnerbait! At this same cove, there was a bald eagle flying around, which is a rare site around here.
  9. Weighted texas rigged swimbaits, green pumpkin and white have produced well here in southern Oklahoma
  10. Alright fellow oklahomies, I've been getting bites (be it small bites, occasional decent bites) on my local fishery. This small lake is over fished to say the least, but the consistent bite-getting setup is a paddle tail texas rigged in rainbow trout color. What're yall using for your bed fishing right now? I've thrown everything on the spectrum, but keep going back to my paddle tail because it produces.
  11. I was gonna go with a 2500 model
  12. Can confirm, SE OK is lit up right now. Idk how these storms from today and tomorrow are going to affect us, but it won't matter on Monday when I'm back out there on the water!
  13. I was wondering about the difference between the two. I'm work right now so I can't research into it. As for rod, the duckett ghost looks appealing in a 6'10" medium. Would this be good for drop shotting?
  14. How does the President hold up to the Shimanos I mentioned? I've heard great things about the Dobyns rods. Right now I'm focusing on finesse setups (drop shot, ned rigs, etc.) and that's why I'm wanting the spinning setup.
  15. I'm looking into getting a decent spinning setup. I've been eyeballing the shimano sedonas or saharas. I like the feel of them from what I've seen at academy. I want to stay in the price range below $80 for the reel and around the same for the rod. I like medium action rods, and light tackle. Thoughts?
  16. I copped the mojo 7'1 medium fast casting rod. It seems pretty sensitive compared to my Abu Garcia Veritas medium heavy, and that's what I wanted. I was able to bid on eBay and got it for $115.
  17. I believe the Elite 9Ti has navionics. Transducer mounting ability isn't exactly a deal breaker for me, but I'll probably put the unit on the bow. Thanks for your input, as I have limited knowledge with fish finders.
  18. What's up fellow fishermen/women? I'm looking at these 2 units and they're both the same price right now through bass pro. What're your thoughts on these? I haven't found many differences between the two. It reads like they're both touchscreen. Does anyone know if you could mount the transducer for either model on the trolling motor? I'm going to be fishing lakes for largemouth, stripers, and smallmouth. My nitro has an old small Lowrance as of right now. Thanks for your input.
  19. I just ordered the M/F Mojo Bass on eBay. Hopefully it pairs nicely with the Curado DC, which I'm itching to test out. This will be my first St. Croix. I'm thinking I'll try braid on it.
