  1. exactly why i'm interested to see if anyone has fished it and can compare
  2. i use the lighter wire for texas rigging weightless senko's and other finesse applications, but if i am flipping a texas rigged bait with a heavier weight i usually step up to a beefier hook that i can really lean into on the hookset.
  3. i use mainly all vmc hooks and they have never failed. from EWG, to dropshot and neko hooks. quality is there and the pricing is great
  4. tackletour recently did a review on the strike king thunder cricket and gave it an 8.0/10 which is a great score and mentioned some similarities and differences with the jackhammer. at the $13.99 price point of the thunder cricket, is it worth saving a few bucks or spending a few more on the jackhammer? personally, i've stuck to the original, elite, and custom chatterbait's and have had fairly good success, but i've been very tempted to step it up to the jackhammer since everyone i talk to raves about them being much more dominant that the lower level chatterbaits. let me know what you guys think
  5. do you fish it like a jig or more like a swimbait? first tourney tomorrow and i have a 1/2 oz. one tied on. haven't had much fishing time with it yet.
  6. great minds think alike! my plan is ned rig/dropshot, jerkbait, jig/texasrig, wiggle wart, chatterbait
  7. pretty close to my thought's except i had a chatterbait thrown in there
  8. weather forecast for satuday is bluebird with temps in the high 50's with 5-10mph wind. the lake has decent amount of vegetation but i am not sure how much has grown this spring. my boater is an older gentleman who usually doesn't fish much deeper than 12-15ft of water.
  9. I have five setups for the first tournament of the season as a co-angler. i pretty much know what i am going to tie on to start on each, but i'm curious to what you guys would do with each setup. water temp's here are 52-55 at the moment. let me know! 6'6 medium light spinning 7' medium spinning 7' medium heavy casting 7'2 medium heavy cranking 7'3 heavy casting GO!
  10. my go to chatterbait color and my go to trailer is the electric shad biospawn exoswim. literally pairs up perfect
  11. i vouch for them too. i always put an order in. can’t beat the prices and free shipping over $40
  12. yep, same as always. you can always pause and go also but that applies with any of the sizes
  13. How much backing do you guys usually put on?
  14. i'm not knocking big swimbait fishing at all, but i've caught some of my biggest fish on a 7' medium light throwing small baits! learn your gear and use it properly and the big fish will come. tight lines bro!
  15. unless you're fishing on a boat with big swimbaits, i wouldn't personally invest in a dedicated swimbait setup. you can spend your money on more useful setups that compliment your water availability.
  16. almost all of my casting reels are daiwa which i love, but i swear by my pflueger spinning reels. both are great options
  17. wiGGGGGLeeeee WART!
  18. anybody know of some good local ponds/small lakes to fish from shore in the nashville area? I'm fishing chickamauga then heading up to nashville to spend a weekend. looking to hit some ponds or small lakes from shore during one of the afternoons. thanks in advance!
  19. seaguar red label is pretty budget friendly and a very nice line
  20. planning a little bachelor fishing trip for me and 2 other guys. looking at heading down end of may. any recommendations for quality big bass guides? thanks in advance!
  21. i don't have any kids, so maybe i'll train my cat
  22. Looking for a decent line spooling mechanism for casting and spinning reels. does anyone have any good reccomendations?
  23. seems to be only worth it if you spend over $99 and get the free shipping. still cheaper to order from TW and get free shipping over $50
  24. it really all comes down to money with sponsors. do you honestly think scott martin want's to use favorite fishing rods and googan baits? both of those companies are cutting him a ridiculously large check to use and promote both products.
