  1. i've seen multiple video's/pictures of the neko rig with the hooks entering opposite ways. some videos the hook point goes into the bait and out towards the tail, and others the hook point goes into the bait and out towards the nose and nail weight. WHICH IS THE CORRECT WAY TO RIG? driving me nuts lol. i've fished it both ways and haven't seen a significant difference in hookup ratio, granted i haven't fished it a TON.
  2. texas rig/wacky rig senko, ned rig, tube, drop shot. they will catch numbers and they will also catch bigguns. i try to fill my limit quick in tournaments and upgrade from there. knowing i have 5 fish in the livewell is my main goal.

    Hello

welcome to bass resource! awesome community of anglers we have here
  4. welcome! don't be afraid to ask any questions. great group of individuals always ready to spread knowledge!
  5. Daiwa Tatula Elite 7'3 MH/F Ehrler Edition
  6. I will vouch for the Daiwa Tatula Elite rods. I picked up the 7'3 MH Erhler edition about a month ago and it has been the best rod i've owned. Absolute workhorse and you can throw so much on it
  7. LOL tell that to my buddy who caught an 8 pounder at chickamauga a few weeks ago on a ned rig while i was catching 2 pounders on a carolina rig
  8. i'll gladly pay for a pack of zman TRD's that will last 15+ fish per bait.
  9. yeah i'm absolutely loving it. i have a tatula ct on it at the moment. great setup!
  10. i picked up a 7'3 MH tatula elite rod and it's easily become my favorite and go-to. will be picking up a few more
  11. i can't wait for the googan baits magnum super dooper bandeeter skeeter booger bug infused with dangle juice for maximum bass sniffability! defintely only going to throw that on my 6'6 XH googan rod that can cast an anvil without breaking! EDIT: ITS GONNA BE LIT
  12. Haha I saw that come in my email. I do want to get a new spinning setup :)
  13. I wanted the go with the models with the AGS guides but couldn't justify dropping an extra $100 on it
  14. You can surely get away with it if need be. 7' medium casting rod and spool your reel up with 8-10 lb. fluoro and co-poly and you're golden!
  15. While on vacation fishing down in Tennessee, I had my all purpose MH rod snap in half. I almost wasn't mad because it gave me a reason to buy a new rod, which we all know is one of our favorite things to do! Went to my go-to tackle shop which happens to be in my home town (shoutout to tackle supply depot). I opted for the Daiwa Tatula Elite 7'3 Medium Heavy Ehrler model. x45 graphite blank, fuji alconite guides and fuji reel seat, EVA foam grips. I chose this model because it would basically act as my workhorse rod that I can throw the kitchen sink at. So fast forward about one month later to today after tournament fishing and weekend fishing, I absolutely LOVE this rod. Super light and sensitive beyond belief whether I'm throwing a 1/2oz jig or a senko, but has plenty of strength and backbone to rip fish out of weeds and structure right into the boat. Super reactive when throwing chatterbaits, lipless crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. I feel like Daiwa get's a TON of attention for their reels deservedly so, and not as much attention on their rods. They hit it out of the park with the Tatula elite. Definitely going to find some excuses to upgrade a few of the rods in my arsenal to these.
  16. alberto is my go-to knot. goes through guides just fine and is very compact. my favorite part is how easy it is to tie, especially if i'm out on the water. try wetting the line slightly before cinching down. help's reduce some of the friction

    Glasses

i have a few pairs of guideline eyewear sunglasses and they have been great. very durable lenses, great polarization, and right in your budget.
  18. 7' medium rod with a 2500 reel will cover a decent amount of techniques for you
  19. i'm very lucky and live in the same town as tackle supply depot. they do run out of item's often (because they are the premier tackle shop in the area, and cater to the avid bass angler) but re-stock very fast. i can order online and pickup locally, or just visit the store and buy while i am there.
  20. $30.00 is a little better price, but would still have a hard time dropping that for a box! not knocking anyone if they do though. i've had great luck with flambeau tuff 'tainers with the ze-rust
  21. what would be your five go-to setups for: around a foot of visibility mainly hard bottom with rocks/boulders and sparse grass water temps mid 70's forecast of mostly sunny skies with 8-10 mph NW winds lot's of brown bass with some green's mixed in
  22. 15lb power pro hi-vis yellow to an 8lb fluoro/co-poly leader
