  1. This reminds me of the inside graffiti of the foot soldiers arcade/lair in the original 1988 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! Haha! Love it!
  2. Both of the Gen 2 Premiers arrived today NIB. They are really, really, nice. 6.4:1 so a nice all around ratio and I got the last two they had. They didn't have any in any other ratio but for $119 a reel I figured what the heck. Best wishes on the water.
  3. Auction site. Same with CC I believe.
  4. Columbia Craw, Nope...you're not nuts! I agree fully that those little differences make a huge impact on a fishing day. The company is from Ukraine called SDS Customs. His stuff is like Hedgehog and the like and his shipping is quick. Things get here faster from him in another continent then some of my domestic mail.
  5. Gen 1 premier came out in about in about 2006/2007 I think. This is the Gen 2 I am talking about:
  6. Gen 1 and Gen 2 reels had a different body style. The 3 and 4 are more compact but feel wider to me if that makes sense. I believe the 1 and 2 had an aluminum frame and side plates too.
  7. I was on the big auction site and saw two NIB from a sporting goods store in NJ that were listed at $119 shipped each. They are sold out now but was that a decent price for this generation reel? Never put much thought into what these older reels are going for now. I had a Gen 1 STX, SC, and Premier but never used a 3 and the 4 felt not so comfortable in my hand. I collect/use Daiwa, Shimano, and Abu reels and I know many of the classic models go for a good amount. Thanks for the help on the random question while we get lambasted with 1-2 feet of snow here in the northeast. Best wishes on the water!
  8. What about 5-6" Magdrafts?
  9. Picked up one a few weeks back when they ran that crazy priced sale on TW. It's -8 wind chill today in the Northeast but my cabin fever has me thinking the best uses for this rod. I have a Tatula 150 with lime SLP knobs on it (yes I know Shimano with a Daiwa). If you have this rod, what techniques are you using it for and does the rod stand out for the price? Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  10. Sometimes you have to love a beater... Ambassadeur C4 with some upgrades: Bearing supported cog wheel Ceramic pawl Lighter brake blocks 100mm white acrylic knob handle Cleaned, bearings flushed, everyone lubed, and it ZINGS! It's got some marks cosmetically but this is going to be a crank/chatter/spinnerbait machine.
  11. Great looking setups! Happy New Year!
  12. A true gentleman on this forum and someone I would recommend to anyone for a quick question, chat, or advice. Columbia Craw is a go-to and has become a true friend. All the best on the water! Happy New Year!
  13. There were none on there this morning and now 4 more showed up but they are down to 3...better act quick because I bet within the next hour or so DEY GON BE GONE
  14. I think I got the last one...I sort closed my eyes and hit submit order LOL. Not that I need another rod either.
  15. I bet that Luvias is really nice! :)
  16. I have to say the quality and fit is amazing. I will be buying from them again. I purchased the purple cast control cap from them too. The nut cover and screw is also SDS.
  17. SDS Custom handle.
  18. That is some very neat tradition and thank you for sharing. Maybe sharing this piece with you folks on here is a way of breaking it in right? My knowledge of Eastern tradition is extremely limited but I find it very interesting. Thank you again for your post.
  19. This is going into my collection. No fishing for this reel! Yes he did! Very thankful for his work and happy that he built this reel for me!
  20. Custom Ito complete!
  21. My custom Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 4500CDL. Best wishes on the water!
  22. I love Bass Resource. It's a great spot to talk tackle, learn new techniques, meet new folks and I have to give a shout out to oldschoolbasser and his AMAZING work on building me a custom Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 4500CDL. He and I have spoken through this forum randomly through posts over the years, but after getting in touch with him and many calls/texts, he has become a good friend and yet another source of knowledge in the bass fishing world. His knowledge/understanding of parts, building, old school tackle, all combined with new school stuff/ideas is really amazing...as are the countless reels he has made, uses, and continuously customizes. This has been a project we have talked about and he knows my level of being a perfectionist (which he will admit he finds funny) but I have to share this build with everyone on here because it truly is an amazing reel. All parts are Simon Shimomura parts and/or stock Abu parts and the frame, sideplates, all gold accents, handle, decals, etc. were made by Simon. These parts are no longer really available and only a few people have access to the remaining ones. The sideplates are sort of an aquamarine/teal/turquoise depending on the light with the 4500CDL decal, the frame is individually numbered, topped off with a 100mm gold handle with pearl knobs, gold line guide, star wheel, cast control knobs, gold accent parts/screws, etc., and a black CDL spool. The pictures don't even do the reel justice and I just wanted to share it on here, thank oldschoolbasser, and wish everyone best wishes on the water!
  23. What rod is that? I love that grip...reminds me of an updated Tennessee handle!
  24. My guess would be a fishing lure ?.
