  1. Check out this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130176402357&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=003
  2. FOR SALE: EC66MF...I bought this rod from the Reed's Sporting Goods sale before they took the Legend Elite's off due to a mistake in pricing. I got this rod shipped for around $210 with the shipping from them (original price was $320 plus shipping). I thought these rods had the split grips. I do not need another rod with a straight handle grip so someone else can benefit from this sale. I will sell the rod for $215 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 so I don't lose out on the shipping. The rod comes with the original St. Croix rod sleeve and will be shipped in the same tube that was sent by Reed's. Again, I got this rod YESTERDAY in the mail and am selling it today. I hope someone will enjoy this rod! *Please note, I did not get free shipping on this rod as I got it late in the sale and the free shipping already stopped.
  3. Ever since I got my Chronarch SF back in 2001, I have noticed that when there is no line on the reel and I reel the handle, there is a metallic sound to the spool. I have seen this on other Chronarch SF's and on other models as well, such as the now discontinued Chronarch 100Mg and even on the Calcutta TE reels. What exactly is this noise? The bearings? It is almost like a pinging sound...once line is on the reels it disappears and my reel performs flawlessly (it is my favorite reel).
  4. eBay is the best source I would think if you are looking for more...do you know of any others?
  5. Anyone still use these rods? Comments? When were they discontinued?
  6. I need some info on when the following reels came out, which one's were better than others, and when were they discontinued... Bantam models: 100 100SG 100EX Mag 100SG BantamMag 100SG (Gold BPS model) Mag Plus 250SG 300 1000 1000SG 10SG 10X SG I know there are alot but I am sure someone can give input on one or more and if enough of you can contribute, I might find my answers. Thank you.
  7. It is actually New In Box!!!
  8. Does anyone know any information on this reel? I just won one on eBay for $80 and it looks really great. This reel is the one two series before the newly introduced one. Cabela's recently closed out the FH series for the new FI, but this I think is from 2001 or so. Can anyone confirm this. It has a wooden handle knob instead of rubber, is white with gold accents, and is the 2000 size. Any word on performance and how this 2000 size can compare to the 2500? I am sure this reel is not on par with the latest version but at half the price, figure I might have gotten a good deal! Thanks for any and all info.
  9. Cabela's has them...I got one for my dad there about 2 weeks ago or so and he loves it!!!
  10. I was simply asking if the Bo Jack was vintage...not implying that it was. I had never seen one before and now it seems I am getting labeled as something negative. And I hope that is not the case. I simply posted about the lure, got some responses and even some price offers, but didn't ask any more. Thank you for the original responses about what the lure was and the history/availability of it.
  11. I have a Mossyback 803C and was wondering what other fishing techniques I could use the rod for other than worms, jigs, senkos...would this make an okay spinnerbait rod?...I tend to not like to moderate action rods and prefer the crisper fast actions. What do all of you use yours for besides the intended specific purpose. Thanks.
  12. Here are my rod and reel setups... G. Loomis IMX MBR783C (Weibe reel seat)/Shimano Chronarch 100SF G. Loomis Mossyback 803C/Shimano Calais CL-200 St. Croix Avid AC62MF/Shimano Calais CL-100A Shimano Compre CPC66MB/Shimano Metanium XT (like Chronarch SF and with ABEC 7 bearings) Falcon Expert EC-6MH/Abu Garcia REVO SC Lew's Speed Stick MDL #1-156HOBB/Lew's BB-1 Speed Spool Shimano Calcutta TE 100GT (no rod yet) St. Croix Avid AS63MXF/Shimano Stradic ST-2000FG Just thought I would share mine and see what all of you are using in comparision. I am not one to have 50 different combos...it would be nice but space to store is limited for me. So...let's hear what you all have... Best of fishing!
  13. I like my 12 lb. test...I have mine on a Revo SC matched to a 6' Falcon Expert MH. Use the rod for Senkos, small spinnerbaits, etc...very versatile and nice!
  14. Anyone use the Mann's 30+ crankbait? I bought one in natural craw color and never used it (still in the box) and now have it up on eBay. Did they discontinue the bait...I heard these bad boys really dig deep in the water...as in 45ft. on a troll. Should I keep the bait or keep it up for auction? Thanks and let me know.
  15. Supposedly the model is a Cabela's exclusive, but I heard it is also available in Japan.
  16. I see so many Senko knock off's but would love to find a link to buy some Fat Ika copies...anyone know of anyone. Thanks.
  17. Back about 2 or 3 years ago...I got a 6'6" St. Croix Legend Elite for $150 marked down from $300...now that was a deal...and it was at my local Gander Mountain. It was the older green blank that was being phased out for the current brown blank rod now.
  18. I always see baits painted in Bluefill or "Bream" (Red-Eared Sunfish), but never see one painted in Pumpkinseed...why is that I wonder?...here in PA where I fish (and in NY) it seems most lakes/rivers have more Pumpkinseeds than other sunfish about 2:1 with Bluegill...and the bass have to be eating them...I think I am going to have a custom lure painted in Pumpkinseed sunfish and just wanted to know your opinions as to why this color might not be used as much. Thanks.
  19. I got one too...just waiting for it to arrive. I think I am going to put mine on 6' MH Falcon Expert.
  20. The secret spinnerbait that my dad and I have been using for YEARS have been Bush Hog Spinnerbaits...for a while you couldn't get them...but they are back... www.bushhoglures.com They have living rubber skirts, have the nicest action I have seen in spinnerbaits and the colors are basic but really effective. I use the white, chartreuse, white/chartreuse, and chartreuse/lime which is really cool. Hope this helps. I really have tried all types of spinnerbaits and these, while very simple, are by far the most effective.
  21. I guess if $10 is the going price per bag...anyone want them for that price?
  22. ;D How much are these going for? I have one pack that I am selling on eBay. They are the originals, unused...brand new pack...Watermelon w/ Black Flake. Thanks. eBay name: harrier1022
  23. This is a pretty cool read on some of the new Shimano rods and reels coming out at ICAST in July...looks like to some cool stuff to add more competition in this already competative tackle market! http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanoelsalto.html I like the "Core" (Metanium Mg based) baitcaster (I think that is the name) and the new spinning reels coming out...plus those split grip rods look awesome too! Any feedback is welcome. Thanks.
  24. Who makes the Gander Mountain brand rods? I was at my local Gander and noticed a really nice casting rod and would like to know the blank origin. The rod is their top of the line casting model...called Titanium Series or something like that. The rod has a Fuji soft touch ECS reel seat and Fuji SiC guides. It retails for $150 and did notice that it said "Made in China." It really felt alot like a Crucial in the same power and action. Anyone know about this rod or own this rod and can comment on origin, quality, etc. Thanks in advance for any responses.
  25. Berkley is coming out with "Berkley Flourocarbon" which is different from Vanish products. Supposedly, it is pretty good but retail ranges from $20-$26 per 200yd. spool. It can be found now at www.***.com
