    Big O

That last picture is a Norman Little N in the old style craw...correct?
  2. Checked the pinion...looks like new. No issues with the spool so I think I am good. Thank you for the responses! Best wishes on the water!
  3. Great! Thanks. I just wanted to make sure I didn't put any wear on the gears.
  4. So yesterday while fishing, I was reeling a spoon back to the boat and I was startled by a good size lake trout trailing the bait in, but really didn't notice it until I picked the rod up and casted again. Upon looking into the water and going through the motions of the cast, I spotted the fish going back down and I think what I did was try to reel while still holding the button down to cast. It lasted a split second but the noise that was made was sort of a grind sound as I think I was trying to stop the cast. Not sure if this was the thumb bar trying to re-engage or what. I was too fixated on the large laker now swimming back down to the bottom. Did this do any damage to the reel? For the rest of the day, the reel performed flawlessly and I was just wondering what this sound might have been and if it was just nothing to worry about. Thank you!
  5. I had the opportunity to order a Morrum ZX 3600 for $239 total from a retailer and did so last night. Is this worth the purchase? I believe they retail for $499. I know TT reviewed it well but thought I would ask to see if anyone has used this reel. Thank you!
  6. I have an Falcon Expert that is about 15 years old and is still a great rod! I think my Expert used Shikari blanks for the series of rods at the time.
  7. I recently bought a 3000HG NASCI and would like to order a 2500 handle with the smaller knob so I can swap as needed with the "T" shaped knob and handle. I would like to know the part number and price if possible. This would be for the whole assembly, not just the handle (without the knob). Thank you and please let me know. Best wishes on the water!
  8. Thank you! I was also looking at the slick color for the x-rap. For the husky jerk, I will look into those colors. Does Rapala make a sexy shad version or is that the Helsinki Shad? Thanks!
  9. As the title says, I fish a lot of water that has Alewives and one that supposedly has Ciscos. What color X-Rap (and also Husky Jerk) to mimic these species? Thanks for the help and any responses. Best wishes on the water!
  10. My NASCI 3000 came today and man oh man is this a smooth reel. I can't wait to use it on my Aetos 7' Medium. I hope it works as well as it looks and feels. Thanks!
  11. Sweet! I ordered a 3000 the other day for the higher gear ratio...I wonder how it compares to a Stradic? I also want to get a new Ci4+ 2500 for my 6'8" ML Zodias rod. Thanks for checking out the NASCI and reporting back.
  12. My assumption is this is a European only model since the U.S. release only includes the 1000FB, 2500FB, 3000HGFB (High Gear Ratio), and 4000FB. Is the European 3000FB the same size as the 2500FB?
  13. Is the Stradic FK that much better than the NASCI FB? Doubled price (aside from getting an FK online for cheaper) adds what besides the A-RB bearings and aluminum body? I am debating now on either to get for my 7' Medium Aetos.
  14. Ok now I am confused...watch this...they say the 3000 is the same as the 2500 but with a larger handle knob.
  15. I posted this same question on another forum (tackle tour) and someone over there said the 10.4oz. weight for the 3000 is likely a misprint since the Shimano Japan has it listed as a high speed model with the same body as the 2500.
  16. Any additional comparisons?
  17. I am looking to match my recently purchased Fenwick Aetos 7' Medium (Fast action) spinning rod with a Shimano NASCI (looks like a great reel and the colors match too). I am up in the air between the 2500 and the 3000. Some specs reference the 3000 to be the same body as the 2500 but with a "T" shaped knob, while others have the specs as a shallow version of the 4000. What is the correct spec and for that rod and would you go with the 2500 or the 3000? I would be fishing 6-8lb. test mono, flouro, and may even try braid on it in the 20lb. range or so. The 2500 is a 5.0:1 and the 3000 is a 6.2:1 ratio. Also, would the handle from a 2500 fit on the 3000 as an option to the "T" shaped knob with a standard paddle one? Thanks for much for any/all responses.
  18. Which gear ratio Metanium reel would better match my 7' 2" Medium Poison Adrena for fishing small jigs, spinnerbaits, worms, senkos, jerk baits, and rattle baits? Thanks for any and all help!
  19. Rated for 6-14lb. and 1/16-3/4oz. baits. I have seen the rod before in person and have read the ratings right on the rod. There is also a video of the exact rod on Youtube which gives the ratings. I am looking forward to this rod...maybe matching it with a 2500 or 3000 Shimano Nasci.
  20. What does this rod excel at? I already have some Fenwick SB Elite 6'9" ML so I thought this would be a nice compliment maybe matched with a new Shimano Nasci or an on sale Patriarch. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you!
  21. Does anyone have a side by side comparison of these two reels? I have a NIB FA and was looking at whether to keep it or return it for an FB? Is it worth it for the newer model? What benefits am I getting over the FA vs. the FB and vice versa. Thanks for any and all help!
  22. I have a 72M casting that I got about a month ago but have not fished yet. I am thinking maybe adding a Metanium MGL to match it, or even another Curado 70. Maybe the Scorpion 70 would match too...or even a Chronarch Ci4...man oh man...too many choices. I hope this rod is pretty versatile from spinnerbaits, light jigs (3/8oz. and under), vibration/spybaits, even jerk baits. They are a beautiful looking rod and seem like a good rod at the sale price they are at. I hope this helps and good fishing!
  23. Gander Mountain Advantage 7' Heavy Fast Action I got for like $39 a few years ago.
