  1. Also, when almost fully loosened, does the star drag have a slight wobble side to side? Thanks!
  2. Do these reels (standard 103 JDM models) have a clicking drag or does it just tighten and loosen without the clicking mechanism? Did the Ito version, the Light, or the Ringa versions have any difference in drag? Thanks!
  3. I have a few rods that I fish the Ned Rig with...one is my 69MLF Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth rod... The others are a Cronos 761M/ML XF and F. Get a medium light and I think you will be fine with Ned's and other finesse stuff!
  4. I am looking at buying the most versatile rod in the lineup...from fishing Bandit 200s up to fishing larger Berkley Dredger baits and everywhere in between (including some jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits). Any/all help would be appreciated. Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  5. I would get the Tatula...I also have a Ci4+ which is great but for the money, get the Tatula...or better yet, get the Tatula Limited Sterling Silver while they last for a few more bearings (9) and a beautiful silver finish! Honestly, one of the best looking reels on the market and priced at $199 but very limited. Hope this helps!
  6. Looking to drop either in an SV103 and am looking for which one to order for better performance. Has anyone used one/both to compare over the stock spool? Thanks!
  7. Maybe $30. If it were a PMA33 or a PT10/15ZX, or even a PTA33/PT33, you could get more. This was a middle/low end baitcaster of the day for Daiwa...and one without the Autoclutch thumb bar.
  8. Looking into the 7' ML spinning non AGS Elite vs. the Cronos. I can get the Cronos for $130 shipped. What are the differences between the SVF and HVF graphite? What is the better material? Any experience with either/both of these models? Thanks!
  9. I think your price is fair but you also have to factor in what BPS closed these rods out at. Folks are not often going to be willing to pay for ordinary rods much more if any from their clearance prices. Plus if they are used, you have to figure in condition as well. No one wants to get burned and I sure don't want to burn someone on a deal but be realistic when you list them. I, for one would be interested in them since I run a high school age bass fishing club for kids and these would be rods the kids could fish. PM me and we can talk. Thanks!
  10. Yes I know but I would rather a protective slip that slips on and off if possible. Maybe that's not feasible but I am sure they are out there somewhere.
  11. Can anyone recommend a protective cover for reel feet so that I don't mar them up with the locking nut of some rods? I think Shimano used to include a few with some of their Mg reels but are there any for Daiwa that you recommend or can purchase? I assume most are universal and if you know of a place to find them, that would be helpful. Thank you!
  12. Ordered one earlier today! Looking forward to the SS Tatula!
  13. It weighs 7.6oz.! http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fish/en/home/products/fishing-reels/baitcast/bantam-mgl.html
  14. What I said earlier: The point of this reel not being magnesium is they have the Metanium at $419 for that purpose and the if you didn't want magnesium but wanted Ci4+, the Chronarch MGL or G fits that bill just under $300. The Bantam is a made in Japan all aluminum reel that is what many Shimano fans have been asking for since the Chronarch D7. I think they made a smart move using aluminum especially with the micro module gearing as it will translate to butter smooth retrieves and built like a tank performance. To save an ounce and use magnesium would be redundant to the lineup not to mention hurt the sales of the Metanium. For many who have felt these reels already at the Japanese shows, they are essentially as smooth as a Conquest only low profile. And the Conquest is the smoothest reel I have ever had in my hands. I have owned Metanium MGLs and Chronarch MGLs and I am excited to see and try the Bantam. Hopefully, it will offer the same build quality and performance of the Calcutta TE, Calais 100A, and Chronarch SF reels.
  15. Those setups are your entry in casting gear?????? Wow...sweet!
  16. SS SV 103SH with Steez 103SHA spool TD-Ito 103M (1 of 2 NIB) J-Dream 7.9 Ian Tuned Morrum 5600C with TD-Z A.O.I. handle and Ringa knobs Daiwa 50th with matching handle and OG Daiwa corks (just got recently from a member on here!)

  18. Oh I know, but isn't S glass pretty much the same across the board?
  19. I am just curious as I hear a lot of reviews on the Legend Glass series of rods but next to nothing on the Fenwick Lunkerstik. Does anyone have a comparison...I know the price is considerably different but figured I would ask. The 7'3" Lunkerstik looks nice and it's only $80. It's a glass rod (which I haven't used) so how much different could they be? I think the Legend Glass rods are some of the nicest looking rods aesthetically on the market! Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  20. Great customer service! A few years ago, I had a Champion 702 break about 2-3" above the reel seat during a hookset using a 4" senko (landing a whopping rock bass ). I called in, sent the broken rod in, and within a week or so, I had a new Champion in hand. They were excellent to deal with!
  21. So I bought one more or less just to see how junkie the reel is. It was $29 shipped to my door for this thing. It is definitely a copy of a TD-Z/OG Zillion/SV103 with a Steez style handle on it. I hate to say it, but it is smooth considering and the free spool is really good. It may only last a few trips but it only cost me what a spool of good braid or flouro would cost so what the heck.
  22. Yeah I haven't even tried it out and didn't want to because of the ding. I knew buying the reel that this spool had some damage. I still got the reel and all of the dress up parts for a good deal so this wasn't a deal breaker. Thanks for any/all help or insight as to what to do.
  23. I have other spool options if this one is not fixable. I have the IS73 in there now, and have Steez and TD-Z spools I could add. But if it is, and it's not too expensive, then I would like to have it done. Thanks!
