  1. Seriously? I shipped 5 rods recently and the most I paid was $16.15 with USPS. That rod that was $16.15 happened to be 7'6" in a tube.
  2. Awesome reels!
  3. In the last few weeks, I have shipped 5 rods in the mail. I have always gone through USPS priority using a cardboard rod tube (TW version or Cabela's, etc.). I just shipped a 7'6" rod to GA from PA for $14.15. The most I paid was just over $16. With insurance, it's only a few bucks more but those rods went 2 day or 3 day priority. In fact, the one guy I know sent me a money order and since I have dealt with him before, I knew he was good for the payment. The rod was to him before the money order was to me and they went out on the same day.
  4. Flea market find for today: This one has the vinyl skirt (before living rubber) and a very long arm (not used to seeing these). Does anyone know what kind of Bush Hog this is? These were the favorite spinnerbait of my late father and I have a few of them, just none with this large of blades and such a long arm. I know this is stock but is the version called the Top Hog? Most of my tandems have smaller baits and a shorter arm with a Sampo style swivel attaching the bottom blade. If anyone has info, please let me know and if any of you have any Bush Hog spinnerbaits that you would like to sell, I would be interested. Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  5. St. Croix Legend Xtreme LXS70MF Daiwa Tatula LT SS (Sterling Silver) 3000-CXH Limited Edition
  6. I have had THREE rods show up in sub-par condition in the last few months... In fact, I ordered an Edge Black Widow 7' MH from STP because the deal was awesome...$239 from $560! The rod showed up in a tube, but with no top cap and the rod was sticking out in the snow near my door. The reel seat on the rod (metal screw down) was all the way up and slid up the blank scratching the blank up. That rod was instantly sent back! Second was last week...ordered a Daiwa Tatula ML...the rod wasn't in a tube but rather a larger cardboard box that was bent in half when it arrived...I swore I ordered a one piece rod but it arrived it two . That was also sent back. Unfortunately, the USPS, UPS, or FedEx have to deliver the package regardless of damage done in transit. In fact, my mail lady asked the next day if I received the broken rod in the mail and if I was sending it back!
  7. How easy is it to get that grease out once it's in there? Just curious because I never have heard of doing this before. Thank you!
  8. Just heard from someone who said that he packs the frame, main shaft, idler, and worm gear bearings with grease using a special tool (not the spool bearings or handle bearings) on his reels and while it doesn't make the handle spin as freely without line, it does contribute to the overall smoothness of the reel under load or with simple water resistance. Is this a real thing because I always thought to oil the bearings and grease the gears. Any help is great appreciated Thanks and please let me know. Best wishes on the water!
  9. Not to cross brands but try one of the 7 ML Tatula Elites. It should match really nicely if you can handle the whole Shimano on a Daiwa thing. I am in the process of selling my Zodias (with a little seller's remorse - it's a 6'8" ML) but find it just a little short for what I currently use and most of my spinning rods are now 7' - 7'6" rods. If you can find a Fenwick ET Smallmouth 6'9" you might be in heaven with that reel! I moved my Ci4+ over to my Legend Xtreme 7' M and it's beautiful!
  10. The SV103 reels might be one of the best and most versatile (spool wise) that Daiwa has offered for durability, castability, and overall performance.
  11. Does anyone have any info on this rod? Looking at one right now for $165 new and wondering if I need it. Aside from jerkbaits, what other applications would it excel at? Also, is it a full grip or split? Thank you!
  12. I have two Daiwa reels for sale in the classified because I bought three of the Sterling Silver Tatula LT reels. I have a Revros 2500 that is still NIB and an RG 2500 that is spooled and essentially brand new in box. Both have stellar reviews. Both can be had for $75 TYD if you want them. That's a steal considering both retail for $60 each. I just need to move them. My loss is your gain basically but I would rather have them being used by someone than sitting. Let me know. Thanks!
  13. These are a specific rod designed for frog fishing...not the same specs as others as I believe they have a -F next to the model number. Regardless, I purchased two rods from Sierra...one they packaged in taped cardboard boxes put together, the other (Edge Black Widow) had no cap on the tube and the rod tip was laying in the snow in my yard when it was delivered. Sierra made it right and I buy a lot from them but whoever packages the rods for shipment may need to learn more about how to do it right.
  14. GET THE TATULA LT STERLING EDITION BEFORE THEY SELL OUT!
  15. I have an opportunity to get an Daiwa Tatula 7' ML casting rod for like $108 shipped online and it seems to me that the rods have almost identical specs to some of the newer Tatula Elite rods. How much difference is there between the regular Tatula vs. the Elites in the ML versions (Howell and Feider)? Aside from the full vs. split grips, the specs for the rods look very similar. Would the 7' ML work well for smaller cranks, jerkbaits (up to 110s), and smaller spinnerbaits Thanks for your help!
  16. BG 2500 would be bigger, as would the Stradic. The new Tatula and all the LT reels are quite compact. More like an older 2000 sized Daiwa with the capacity of the older 3000s. Realistically, I have a Stradic 2500 Ci4+ and am blown away by the Tatula LT reels.
  17. With the LT series, the capacities have increased in the same reels from previous Daiwa offerings while the frame has been made smaller. The 3000 C has more of an accurate line capacity versus the D in the 2500 or 3000. The Tatula reels are great reels all across the board!
  18. Very nice! Enjoy!
  19. Here are some of mine...the 4600C and the 2500C are custom made and the 6000 is all original that I found at a flea market and was produced between 1959-1961. I still would like a custom Turquoise blue one with gold/silver accents and pearl handle as well!
  20. I felt the Carbonlite rods...they are really nice...I like the new guides that remind me of older Fuji Hardloy guides!
  21. Should be excellent for cranks and spinnerbaits/chatterbaits. For the price, buy it for sure!
  22. Doesn't look like it's still on the site...did you buy the last one?
  23. Thanks MountainMan83...please check your PM!
  24. When you back the drag off almost completely, does the star drag itself slightly wobble side to side? I have a 103 JDM and when it is backed off, it wobbles a little bit back and forth...it doesn't do it when tightened but rather when it is almost fully backed off. Thanks and please let me know.
