  1. CV-Z 203A...looks more like a Luna 203A?
  2. The big fishing show in Japan I believe starts on the 17th so I am sure in a few days there will be lots of details on all the new stuff.
  3. A new (old) 1979 Abu Garcia Ambassaduer 5500C... Which one? Fenwick Boron X 6'... St. Croix Legend Glass 7'4" MH...
  4. Nice find. How much is too good to be true?
  5. They aren't even the same reel. Totally different era and totally different side plates. Also, the fact that that seller has 97% feedback should say enough about credibility. You're looking about a 5-10 year different time frame. My honest offer I messaged you stands as I am not someone to shortchange anyone on price.
  6. I just bought a 5'6" Bionic Blade the other day from a lady selling rods on Craigslist. $3. Cleaned up the cork, added wood filler, and lighted sanded the excess. Looks new!
  7. I ended up getting a Hummingbird Helix 7 Gen3 retail price $799.99 at a store that was closing for a sale price, then an additional 40% off which came out to a cool $256 on the receipt! Mega SI, Mega DI, CHIRP, 360, Bluetooth, etc. etc. I am thrilled!
  8. I have a Fenwick Boron X 6' Pistol Grip that I picked up and love it. Wonder what that rod is worth?
  9. Megabass Levante Jerkbait Special/Daiwa SV103H or XS depending on pickup... Daiwa OG Tatula 7' ML RB/Megabass IP68. Reels are interchangeable but those rods are excellent for jerkbaits. I am sure the Exage would be nice but if your budget fits these rods and/or you can find them on a deal, you won't be sorry. Thanks and best wishes on the water!
  10. I have both (SV103 and SV105) in many versions and will agree that the SV105 is going to fit smaller hands for sure on a wider variety of reel seats. To me, both of these platforms are my favorites which is why I own so many of them. If you are looking at something lighter and more compact than the SV103, find an Alphas SV105 and I think you'd be set. The Alphas CT SV105 is just a narrower spool with spool spacers but the frame is the same. The SV103 is the same frame as the older TD-Z or the OG Zillion. If you can find a used Alphas SV105HS, I think you'd like it a lot. Or look for a used, good condition TD-Z 105H and you're finesse fishing would be set.
  11. It seems like they are never listed on those auction sites...rather just on a few forum classifieds. Part of the reason why I love these reels are the spool options. I have a variety of spools in that 34mm and they all interchange nicely. But that classic TD-Z/OG Zillion profile is what I really think keeps these reels as classic!
  12. Any other word on the new Zillion and will there be another version beyond the HD?
  13. Yep, that's the HD version but rumor has it that there may be a standard CT version coming too!
  14. Yikes! I couldn't do that with my stuff.
  15. Looking for info on how close these rods are to their XX counterparts as far as sensitivity, etc.? Has anyone here fished them for a while to comment. How do they compare to rods from other manufacturers? I love my 19 Levante Jerkbait Special. Thanks for any/all help and best wishes on the water!
  16. 2019 Megabass Levante Jerkbait Special paired with a Daiwa SV103H. Matches perfectly.
  17. Ordered a Jerkbait Special today. Now which reel to put on it...maybe SV103P or SS SV103SH.
  18. Isn't it amazing though how we have changed to think that faster and faster is always better and better. Back about 15-20 years ago, a 6.3:1 was a bottom presentation fast as lightning ratio. The baits didn't change but we seem to now think that we need a 12:1 to fish a jig anymore.
  19. OG Tatula 7' ML short full handle. The best!
  20. I was fishing my TD-Z 103H Type R+ yesterday with jigs and it was handling them just fine. And it also threw spinnerbaits perfectly. I think there is a lot of hype in "speed" of a reel rather than IPT.
  21. TD-Z reels in 6.3:1 might be the best thing going...:) But then again, the SV103H (6.3) and XS (7.9) have all bases covered... Best wishes on the water.
  22. I spent this weekend throwing jigs with it and it was great!
