  1. I used to believe this also, it could not be farther than the truth. I changed my mind about this when I started fishing deeper water, structure and what not. I have caught many more bass, and Larger fish with a jig, and a plastic stuck to it, than I every caught on any free falling bait. * There are times when free fall is better, but for the most part when fishing deeper water the jig and t rig out fishes it Of course I agree with that, it would take all day for a soft plastic bait to fall weightless in water 10 feet deep or better. But for less than that it is a deadly technique. When it gets past ten feet I also like a jig or weight of some kind. The only rule I follow about fishing is, "there are no rules".
  2. A weightless, slow fall keeps the bait off the bottom longer and teases a bass into striking. It also allows a lure to to have it's own unique, unimpeded action, and that can be a killer. Windy days are another matter.
  3. All plastics are better fished weightless when conditions allow it. Those Jelly Worms have been around forever and there is good reason for it.
  4. I fish them t rigged with out a weight. If I have to use a weight it is the lightest I can get by with. I use all sizes and get a little different glide with each. You can fish them on just about any rig you like. The only wrong thing you can do is not use them. Same applies for the Paca Craw, might even be better than the Beaver. Be careful, you can get hooked by the success of either of these and not throw anything else. I have fished soft plastics for many, many years and I try every new one that hits the market. None have compared to the catch rate of either.
  5. I think it is THE best soft bait to come out in the last 5 years. The Sweet Beaver and Paca Craw will catch bass when other baits will not.
  6. A swimming pool and a cooler of Bud lite. 8-)
  7. The old MadMan craws were pretty good. I have found that craw imitators like the Paca or Rage Tail work better than very realistic ones.
  8. I think that all varies from day to day. Just as bass want different lures they also want different retrieves. Don't get locked into just one presentation, experiment and find out what they want maybe your way will be the best way.
  9. I pick up line when ever I see it. The other morning when I put the boat in the river the dock was covered with trash, garbage, and line. Some people are just hopeless and thoughtless. And by the way, those plastic six pack holders can do a job on wild life also.
  10. I guess I should have known that Catt. I do some teaching and I can spot the engineers by the slide rule sticking out of their pocket. Some one just posted a good idea. Why not a Rage Tail forum Glenn? If they are so popular they need their own just like Shimano. Looks like Big O is going to keep pumping out more hits.
  11. Hey Catt, I got to ask you this. I am sort of tongue in cheek serious about this. Have you ever weighed the tungsten and lead weights we all use? I always wondered about this, I swear every brand is different. I hope Big O's Rooster is as good as it looks because that is my kind of bait, I'll have a pack as soon as I can get them.
  12. True ultra lite fishing is a joy and you can land some pretty nice fish on a small outfit with light line if you know what you are doing. It will make you a better fisherman.
  13. Good grief, you gotta be kidding. :-?
  14. Catt I think I am missing your point. Are you saying they are so different they should not be compared? I mean they are both craw imitators. To quote bmadd I don't think he has a product out there that hasn't been produced before. His tail design on the anaconda is a little different but I think that Net Bait was around before and his baits are pretty similar. My point is where are the similarities? I guess you are saying they are not similar. I can't agree with that at all. They are as similar as a 7 inch Culprit worm is to a 7 inch Power worm. I think you need to take another look at those baits or be more specific.
  15. Very interesting, can't wait to see the action.
  16. Catt I think I am missing your point. Are you saying they are so different they should not be compared? I mean they are both craw imitators.
  17. Take all you can get, what you don't like you can sell on eBay.
  18. Try Tackle Underground. Might have some luck there.
  19. I have to disagree with this. Paca Craws are well noted for their alternate claw action and when rigged properly those claws will stand up and wave with the slightest movement. I tried the Rage Tail craw and I caught fish, but the Paca is just an all around better bait in my opinion.
  20. Rage Tail baits. ;D Don't shoot!! I am just kidding. I would have to live to be 500 and fish every day to use everything I have. Can't help it, I really believe I will use them someday.
  21. Sorry to hear that. My spool is a couple of years old and I am looking to buy more.
  22. Fenwick Tecna AV, the Crucials are also pretty nice.
  23. I have been using this line for a couple of years now for my ultra light applications. I use the 9.2 pound test which is .20 mm diameter. Compare this to Yo- Zuri 4 pound at .0235 and breaks at 8.5 pounds. This line is tough, limp with very little memory, good knot strength and casts extremely well. The only problem is it is a little expensive and hard to find. Tackle Tour had a discussion about this line a while ago. Just thought I would share this with you. If you are into the small ultra light reels you will love this line.
  24. Case makes some nice baits. I am not sure if they are just local or a small national company. They make a great wacky rigging tool.
  25. How are they different Raul? Can you explain?
