  1. I am thinking about the Eliminator this fall when I find shad schooling. I plan to try it weightless just under the surface, it looks like it could be a killer. Has anyone had any luck like this yet?
  2. I am not a big fan of most of the Lucky Craft baits, but the Pointers are in a class by themselves. I have not found anything else that gives me the results they do.
  3. I'll see if I can post the address if you want to participate. http://capwiz.com/keepamericafishing/issues/alert/?alertid=16355526&cmCat=email&cm_cat=6089&cm_ven=email-nl&cm_pla=HA-0100&cm_ite=16355526&eid=7055149&cmp=I100902A&seg=FI1&cnt=6089&ctb=16355526
  4. I got this notice from Cabela's, I am sure others have also I thought I would share it with all of you. Take Action Now! Protect your right to fish. September 2, 2010 Dear Cabela's Customer: Occasionally, an issue of such importance arises we feel it necessary to contact our loyal customers. With our fishing rights at stake, this is such an issue. On August 23, 2010, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was petitioned by the Center for Biological Diversity and others to ban lead from ammunition and fishing tackle, including sinkers, jigs, weighted fly lines and components containing lead, such as brass and ballast in lures, spinners, stick baits and other fishing products. On August 27, the EPA denied the petition regarding ammunition, but let stand the petition to ban lead in fishing tackle and has opened a short period for taking public comment. Such a ban would cause prices of fishing products to skyrocket. Alternative metals can cost from six to 15 times more than lead, and most do not perform as well. For many, fishing would no longer be the affordable sport it is now. Please join Cabela's and Keep America Fishing in opposing this ban by submitting your comments to the EPA no later than September 15, 2010. You can easily do so by clicking here. It is a fast and easy way to assure your opinion is heard. Cabela's is working in conjunction with the American Sportfishing Association and Keep America Fishing to protect our tradition and heritage of fishing. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Cabela's This e-mail was sent to you by: Cabelas.com, One Cabela Dr., Sidney, NE 69160
  5. For me it is just one of these and one of those. I think I have a favorite from just about every manufacturer.
  6. I fish with my grandson a lot and he eats everything in the boat before lunch time. I keep packing more and he still eats it. Before we leave the dock I can see his butt sticking out of the dry storage checking out the grub. He is 13 very active, athletic, and hungry.
  7. Keep your line wet and follow your gut feelings.
  8. Josh, sorry to rain on your parade the title of the topic just caught me at a bad time. Just like Flippin and Pitchin said, you shared something that was very valuable with your friend so I guess you guys are pretty close. Hope you guys are still buddies 40 years from now. Hope you can find another Footloose that works that well again. I agree eBay is the place to look Happy hookin'
  9. Yeah I am heart broken also. Lost my best fishing buddy last week, we hung out and fished for over 45 years. You will find another crank.
  10. They are very good baits for the price. They are well built and durable and they catch bass. They are not quite Lucky Crafts though.
  11. I understand your confidence in the Senko.
  12. RW I don't think I made my point very well. What I mean is . Could it be the knowledge of fishing soft baits in general that you learned that has made you a better fisherman? Maybe you are giving too much credit to the Senko and not enough to your skills.
  13. Do you think maybe that seminar had something to do with that? I still maintain you don't need expensive baits to catch bass, it is all about the guy behind the reel.
  14. Overall they are probably the favorite and number one selling soft plastic. They have a bait for every purpose and some are simply the best, their lizards are untouchable. They are my second favorite line of soft baits with Berkly being first. I wonder if Zoom is number one in sales?
  15. Probably a heavy super line hook?
  16. Thanks it sounds heavy enough to cast easily without added weight but light enough to stay near the surface at a slow retrieve. Hopefully it will sink slow enough so it does not drop out of the strike zone when you kill it. Good luck with it.
  17. OK so let me rephrase my question. Is it a buoyant bait that will stay near the surface when fished slowly with out a weight? Or is it a bait that will sink like a rock?
  18. That is a unique looking bait. Is it a heavy bait? I am wondering about the rate of fall. Paddle Tail Seal would have been a great name.
  19. Just because they "as good as the bbz" doesnt make it a good bait. I'm not too fond of the BBZ shad either... :-/ Also, don't forget that ANYONE can write a review. You don't suppose that someone internally at RS may have typed up the review, do you? : So true Speedbead, you really need to cut through the bs when someone is telling you how great a bait is. There is a whole lot of that going on and just because you read it on the internet it doesn't make it so. Too often the person promoting that bait is compensated somehow.
  20. Thanks for pointing that out to me, he explained it well. There seems to be more than just one or two baits that looks like this one and I wanted to know how it is different.
  21. I can shop a nearby Cabela's or Gander Mountain and a couple of local tackle shops. What I can't get there I use Tackle Warehouse.
  22. Good golly, that would be awful!!!!
  23. I have several old favorites that they don't make any more and I buy all I can find when I am lucky enough to find any at all.
