  1. Are these two types of batteries compatible in this circuit? Will this configuration create problems?
  2. For me in this area it has been a seven inch Berkley Power worm. Black or black and blue is always dependable. It is really more about location and presentation than any particular bait.
  3. Speed Traps, a very under rated bait.
  4. Very good discussion. Any time we can get Paul Roberts involved we are all going to get a lot smarter.
  5. This is a very bad feature of tungsten weights, particularly the cheap brands The only ones I ever used that did not cut line was Tru Tungsten and I have not found anything else that comes close. I bought up a lot of them when they were going out of business and I am looking for another brand just as good.
  6. Both. Each one is a tool that does the job a little differently and it would be wise to know which of your crank baits have a wide wobble and the ones who run tight. And you should not limit them to any one time or any one application. I try each one on every trip to see which the bass prefer on that particular day.
  7. Speed Traps especially in cold water.
  8. I have 4 of these and they look awful good to me. The craw pattern is incredible.
  9. Best I have ever used by far I won't use any other.
  10. I think this may be about as accurate as a scientific weather forecast
  11. Some I have heard over the years "when the dogwood trees are blooming crappie fishing is at it's peak"................. I think this one is right on in this area "when the leaves on the oak trees are as big as a squirrel's ear, the top water fishing is very good"................I like this one too "when the cows are laying down in the fields the fishing will be bad" ..................don't like this one. How active can a cow be?? "when you see a lot of game moving about, like deer and turkeys, the bass will be very active".............. maybe, maybe not. here is one that I believe that know one seems to talk about When I pull up into a bay or an area where the turtles are sunning on logs I catch bass there. This has been true for years. OK let's hear some of yours, I bet there are some good ones from around the country.
  12. I believe the Pointer is the one expensive bait that is really worth the price. For me there is not another jerk bait that even comes close , they just out perform any other and I am not sure why.
  13. All of the above plus a Shad Rap and a very old Wiggle Wart.
  14. I don't know if I would say they are my favorites , but two of my most productive over the years have been the old Bagley Balsa B and Killer B.
  15. If you hook them with the tail flat and no weight they do a nice glide on the fall.
  16. Clear water = natural colors. But if it is sunny I would be tempted to at least try chrome.
  17. You really need to tune a bait to get it to run straight on the water just as if you were fishing it. Check all of the hook hangers to make sure they are straight and then start bending the line tie in the opposite direction it runs to. A little patience and you will correct your problem
  18. I would say out of tune and reeling too fast. It is not hard to tune most of them and usually doesn't take long.
  19. If it is doing that while you are reeling it may need tuned. Could be running off to the side and twisting over on a fast retreive
  20. Thanks that was very informative. Lucky Craft had a gold mine with the RC series I would think they would try to keep an original version available somehow.
  21. Another post got me to thinking about this. We all know that the RC 1.5 series was discontinued. So I wonder. Are the new LC 1.5 baits the exact same bait? And are the Skeet Reese 1.5 and so on the same as the RC series. I just was curios about how Lucky Craft handled this.
  22. Correct me if I am wrong my memory is getting old. Wasn't it the Big O that really started the crank bait craze? It seems that when the pros started to win tournaments with them that other bait companies started to produce what was known as the alphabet series of crank baits. Bomber had the Model A and I think Norman started the N series during that period. There were others that I can't remember. The Big O had a big impact on fishing at that time, that was all you heard about and they were hard to get and very expensive. I heard stories of pros actually renting them for tournaments. Still to this day I have never seen an original Big O, I would love to just hold one of those because of the history it had with fishing. The plastic series that Cordell produced were not even close to the effectiveness of the original.
  23. My first was the Bagley Balsa B many years ago. It is still very effective and very hard to hang up.
  24. The only way I feel sure they are the original baits is to get lucky enough to find them sealed in their original containers. The first ones came in hard, clear plastic boxes, then came a soft plastic package. If those had a red label on it they were the same as the original. If the label is blue they are not as good. Wish they could duplicate the original, but I doubt if they ever will.
