  1. Does spike-it cause any reactions with ElaZtech? Mainly wondering if it will cause the plastic to dissolve or make it any less durable.
  2. Mine is still in my rotation. I did change the stock handle to a handle off of a Curado K because the stock one was a little small for my liking. I mainly use it for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits with 30lb braid. It is still a smooth reel but it is not as smooth as the Curado DC(it is as smooth as a Curado I). But do prefer the braking profiles and the option of more adjustment with the I-DC5 system of the Scorpion over the I-DC4 of the Curado dc. Also to me the Scorpion palms a little bit better than the Curado Dc as it is a tad narrower and better shaped on the palming side.
  3. The normal Berkley Lightning rod.(not the shock )
  4. Daiwa J-Braid x8 Grand Light Grey and regular white J-Braid x8.
  5. https://www.digitaka.com/item.php?item=4969363035301 This is where I purchased mine from. Shipping only took about a week.
  6. I would recommend getting a Curado K over the DC. After owning and using most of the DC reels ( Scorpion Dc, Curado dc, Metanium Dc, and an older Antares Dc) I have found that DC is kind of overstated and hypedand I can get more out of a reel with a normal breaking system. When I measured distance between my Curado K and Dc i was only getting 1-1.5yds further with the DC. With lighter weights though the K out casts the DC.When it came to short pitches or casts the the K has alot better breaking because alot of the time the DC unit doesn't have time to charge and work. As far as smoothness and refinement goes Curado k and the Dc are the same. Both feel solid in hand but the K is more comfortable to palm IMO. Another option that is just over $300 is the Metanium MGL from Digitaka at around $305. If you can stretch it is much better than the Curado K and DC
  7. The Stradic FL is the same price as the FK. The price did not change. Though it may be a while before the street price of the Stradic to reach the street price the FK had.
  8. That is a NOPE lure.
  9. I would suggest the Aldebaran or even a Metanium. Would not suggest the 13 reels do to the braking system only having six brake settings and not being externally adjustable. BPS does use Doyo as a manufature as does Lew's but the two bps reels you mentioned do not share the frame with the PRO Ti reel from Lews but they do share their frame with the older LFS series. So the pro ti will feel different in hand than the bps reels.
  10. You can regularly find the Curado K for right at or just under $150 on ebay. If you want to stay a fair bit under that you can find a Daiwa Fuego or a Shimano SLX for around $80 on amazon and ebay.
  11. With regular care and maintenance i don't see why not. Got one near the end of last fall and used it quite often then and have been using it heavily this spring and it still feels like new.
  12. The guides are just slightly smaller and leader knots like the PR and FG go through just fine.
  13. I don't see using straight braid as an issue but for me using a leader is more of a confidence thing. As a connection knot i use the PR when pre tying and the fg if i need a new leader on the water. Never had an issue with these knots going through micro-guides.
  14. 1.5-2 inches refer to profile picture. Caught while fly fishing for bluegill.
  15. Swim Jig- Rage Menace and Rage Swimmer Chatterbait- LF Live Magic Shad Spinnerbait- Rage Menace Color depends on water clarity and conditions.
  16. Jackall Gantarel Jr. RT ghost gill
  17. I have the G.Loomis E6X 892s DSR and have been using for drop shot but more for pitching senkos around structure. Has worked well, really like the taper and power of these rods.
  18. Out of the two I would suggest the Stradic Ci4+, it is a much smoother and more refined reel, also the drag is much better imo. (also this my patriarch xt had really bad line out of the box but shims solved that problem.) Another option is the Daiwa Tatula LT it has become one of my favorite spinning reels over the past year. It is just as smooth, refined and light as the Stradic Ci4+ and feel as powerful. (and it is only $190 but can regularly be found for $150-$160)
  19. This is what i would suggest also. Bought one when I was traveling and it is a pretty decent setup. I had it spooled with 8lb mono and was useing it for poppers and wacky senkos.
  20. Shimano is one of the excluded brands.
  21. What kind of budget are you looking at.
  22. 20lb -30lb mono dependent upon bait size. I don't use braid do to when it does backlash it usually results in a lost bait. No matter what line you use just don't go trying to lob the bait out there because it will sometimes result in a lost bait.
  23. 40lbs J Braid Grand 15-20 P-line CFX fluoro Leader
  24. I would suggest the 802S JWR it is what got after being impressed with the casting rods. I have it paired with a 2500 sized Stradic fk and use it for fishing 3/16 oz spider jigs and 1/8oz ned rigs and wacky rigged senkos. Really like it for what i use it for.
  25. A 7'-7'3" Medium Heavy fast action rod is usually considered to be an all purpose rod. It can really be used to do anything, except for the extremes of finesse and swimbaits.
