  1. Welcome George, I will try to find some information online about the size of replacement bearings, but the best thing I think would be to just disassemble the reel and measure the bushings as they will need to come out anyway. Looked all he usual places to see if I could find a size on those bushings for you but could not. Like previously stated they are easy to remove and measure.
  2. I like my SV-105 a lot, I put the same SV spool in my Sol.
  3. I am very much in the same situation. When I do get out I have a few reels that I love to fish and its hard to get away from them. I have a T3 MX 1016 that I have been using a lot lately, man is it fun, that and my SV-105,
  4. They are a very nice looking reel, picture does no justice. I put line on it, but don't think I ever fished it. Looks NIB . I am lucky enough that it is a extra reel for me also. Probably just hang on to it, I have a regular Type R that I have used maybe 2- 3 times.
  5. When comparing upper end rods sometimes the difference in sensitivity lies in the hands of the buyer. Looks like you have a bunch of fantastic equipment now, you're not out anything if you decided not to buy anything new.
  6. It is just the picture, the paint is a very bright red and the finish is just what you would expect.
  7. I have seen pictures of the yellow Tatula. The guy I got the reel from told me that there were only 15 of these reels made.
  8. I have seen that model, but there are a some differences. The biggest one that I noticed is that the Thailand market did not produce a red one in the 8.1.1 ratio. The boxes were different also, the Thailand market reels came in a red box. Also not that you can tell from the pictures but the handles and grips were different also.
  9. So I have had this reel for a while and never really found a ton of information about it. Thought maybe one of Tatula experts could tell me what I have here.
  10. I think the SC offer more bang for the buck in terms of components but if you are going for sensitivity the NRX is still top dog IMHO.
  11. So do you feel like if a rod company sizes a blank in length, power, and action, chooses between the tons of guides, frame and insert options, handle length, material, full grip, split grip, places the hook holder and I am sure a ton of other options that it may make it better suited for one technique over another?
  12. Your welcome, have you had it apart for maintenance recently
  13. Sorry Man I have to ask, What' the gimmick?
  14. Well that would certainly seem to indicate that you have either exceeded the life of your drag system and need to replace it or there is some type of mechanical failure.
  15. Well 7 does come after 6 and before 8, so I think it is probably middle of the road..... That's an interesting comment, what makes you feel this way?
  16. Can someone remind me, I assume that Quantum uses OEM reels much in the same way as Lews
  17. Anyone remember Fish Heads by Barnes and Barnes
  18. I agree someone young and relevant right now would almost be better than continuing their relationship with KVD....
  19. This is what makes me wonder about their target market and strategy.
  20. Man, that is a great post, thanks for all of the information. I bet this will be extremely helpful to someone doing research on Quantum reels and in general. I am going to check out the Tour S3 right now.
  21. That puts it weight right around the same weight as the Daiwa Zillion 50th Anniversary Model. Does it have brass gearing, how long is the handle?
  22. One last question, have you ever tried a Tatula with the T-wing system, and if so what did you think?
  23. Always nice to score a great deal. So do you fish other reels or are you strictly Quantum? Not familar with the Icon PT, what do you like about the reel?
  24. I have the NRX JWR 853C casting and a bunch of St.Croix rods in XF and the SC have always seemed just a little faster. was not sure if it was just the 853 or NRX in general.
  25. Any models that have really stood out over those years or some that were really disappointing?
