fished crescent lake yesterday and could say yeah they have moved off the beds over there. I was fishing a junebug senko and not really getting anything. moved to a red flake senko with chartruese tail and managed to snag a couple. I fished Butler this morning off the cop dock and managed to snag a nice fish off a junebug senko. But like someone said earlier i was just letting it sit on the bottom very slight movement. Anything with a wiggly tail was not so productive. saw a few boats out there fishing open water. I saw only 1 boat catch a fish.

Yeah buddy there is also a good BBQ place in Downtown Winter Garden. I think it just has a sign that says BBQ and is about 6ft wide and 12 long. It's really good tho. There is also 4 rivers and Ellie Lou's which are amazing. Anyway, I can't even begin to fathom fishing in a hole in the ice. That is so crazy. If I have to wear jeans I hate my life. I swear sometimes I think Orlando is too cold for me. I would actually like to be somewhere in the Stuart fl. area or hobe sound. Closer to some great saltwater action and closer to Okeechobee lol. Anyway I may text Thomas today and find out where he is I know he has today off too. First I think I am going to hit some lily pads over by my neighbors dock real quick.

I get Bitters at ace harware in Winter Garden. In addition to Orlando proper you should get over to downtown Winter Garden. Especially at twilight. I highly recommend walking from the Crooked Can to Downtown Winter Garden. they have bluegrass guitarists on friday night and to eat you have to go to The Whole Enchilada. They have a really good fish burrito. I will probably be at the bar on the roof hahaha. anyway it's great family fun. On a side note Thomas and I hit Turkey Lake on Saturday. Caught 8 fish in the boat and had a great time.

Hey buddy not much in the big lakes. Bite has still been pretty slow. I went to a somewhat private pond the other day and caught 5 good size fish in about an hour and a half. It was pretty crazy. For reason's I can't go into I really can't disclose the area of this pond but they were hungry. I only had about half a bag of worms with me and they pretty much destroyed them. it was fun. gonna try again this weekend in Lk. Butler.

senkos who uses those things?? anyway, gatornationals will change your life. awesome time!! daytona will make your thank god your alive. But yeah right now flipping and punching grass looking for those bedding fish is the way to go. even hitting the shore under cypress trees. My buddy caught a nice 5lb fish hitting the bank next to some cypress knees with a crank bait twitching it a couple times first almost like a popper. kinda simulated a dying bait or something, fish nailed it as he started the retrieve.

yep FOP (Fraternal Order of POPO). gees we seem to have a small group here in the Orlando area. We should organize a fish day somewhere. Kinda crazy but had a nice 2-3lb fish in lake crecent yesterday next to a dock off a senko. Kinda funny cause i was throwing a crankbait in that area for a while with no results cause i knew there was something under there. So, i try to think outside the box sometimes and grabbed this ugly green and black spotted senko that I bought for a dollar at the big academy outdoor sale, really good sale by the way going on at academy outdoors!!!!, little guy nailed it boooo yah, so I have no idea what these guys are up to these days lol.

as far as baits go, I would bring what ya got. right now crankbaits have been great however, I love top water and post spawn frogs, popping frogs and spooks are ffffuuuuunnn to fish. soft plastic worms, senkos and creature baits can't be denied. also, chatterbaits from bounty hunter have been great for me in the past. I will give this disclaimer tho, I am not a guide, pro or any other type of good angler. I fish for fun and beers. Just saying. i am probably what you would call a below average angler. I try lol and manage to catch a few fish along the way. Just saying.

Turkey lake is great the canoe rentals are a bit pricey imho but well worth it. hopefully we should be in post spawn by march/late march or earlier. the weather here in cent. fl. has been pretty crazy. so keeping my fingers crossed. Turkey lk. rarely gets fished so, there are quite a few lunkers out there. if we are in post spawn you can throw a piece of fried chicken out there and catch fish. bank fishing on the Butler Chain is hard. there are a few places you can fish from a dock. let me know if you wanna go out to the Butler Chain or Conway chain. it's usually just me and my dog, recon, so i have room. I am a member of the sportmans club here on the butler chain and a Windermere resident so I have access to a couple of different boat ramps. I am also in the FOP (I'm a cop) so i have access to the Conway chain via the FOP camp boat ramp. just give me a holler.

I fish the butler chain and conway pretty regular. The bite has been real slow. Crankbaits have been king.

sounds good. this is our long week and I am going on vacation dec.28-31. I also have a ton of off duty (gotta pay for christmas) so pretty much screwed for de. we'll hook it up in jan,feb.

dang buddy that sucks. I only caught 2 2 pounders. I had my dog with me so I didn't fish as much as I would have liked too. He gets bored and wants to swim so I took him over to the island and let him run around. There was another dog out there so he had a good time.

ah gees just saw this. Thanks for the invite! If I saw it sooner I probably woulda joined. I am always looking to fish new places.

did eh ok today. Caught 4 fish. 1 was a dink the rest between 2-3lbs. Coulda been better. Worked hard for those four though. They were really not biting today. Going again tomorrow hopefully catch some thing bigger. even though not a great day i bet it was better than sitting in class hahaha. be safe. greg

Hahaha yup they sure are!! you'll see as you get in to training lol. anyway, be safe out there and we'll figure something out. right now getting ready to put in on the butler chain.
