  1. Like these? Then yes. Z-Man TRD Bugz 6pk | Tackle Warehouse
  2. Yup. Gave my 1st one to a bud. So much nicer than punching a hole in elaztech with an awl then fighting the rattle in, then glueing the hole shut. Gonna try it in some plastisol baits for sure.
  3. Yeah, man. These Flash-J Shads with the flashy mylar film insert are nifty. After my prized Nories Spoon Tail Shads were discontinued I found these. Seems to be made at the same vendor. Telltale injection ports. Great night bait. May be the shiz for FFS too.
  4. Just some maintenance items and a few baits. Stupid pickerel keep swiping my Frittside 5s and the only hooks I can use around here for Neds. One day I'll smarten up and listen to @A-Jay and pick up some Surflon tie-able metal leader instead of praying each time I get a bite this time of year: "Please God, don't let it be a pickerel", then it is, then doink, then seeya later bait. MFer#^&*$#@*%^!
  5. I'd cleared out tomorrow's work today in hopes of getting a wade in before the arctic drops on us next week, but sometimes God simply doesn't want me to catch a fish. 25-28mph winds and fishing under giant overhung trees is just looking for a concussion or worse. The ground is soaked from rain already and we're getting hammered again tonight, so treefalls are likely. Oh well. Catch one for me!
  6. No. Just gets up there occasionally.
  7. He has a black Tracker Targa with a bunch of graphs on it, but that day he was being guided by Paul Mueller on his boat.
  8. If you'd like to try an alternative to mushroom heads with 90 degree line ties or even ballheads for neds and small swimmers fished through heavier weeds, then take a look at these hooks. Notice the point tilts down towards the bait. Really helps with weedless-ness as skin-hooking doesn't need to go as deep. Barely at all actually. Razor sharp, so hookups are great. I couldn't fish neds around here until I found these. It was just too frustrating even with ewg type ned hooks. 1/8oz shown on the bottom.
  9. He didn't mention length. He didn't weigh it either after a long fight in deep water. But yes, that sucka is long.
  10. Here's another option I run with 5"-6" Zman Diesel Minnows. The skirts are pre-made/collared that easily come off and go back on. Also a great head shape for fishing through thick weeds. Strike King Swinging Swim Jig | Tackle Warehouse
  11. Yup. Reaction Tackle Tungsten Swing/ Swimbait Jig Heads (2 Pack)
  12. Here's a good reason NOT to lip a fish with a mouth full of trebles. When I started to remove it, I could see nothing of the hook whatsoever as I cut it off right at the weld and flush with my skin. Just about a 1/16" of the hook's point was showing. It took a half hour and I almost quit several times. Brutal.
  13. ^^^^This. And a stout MF at that.
  14. Does it matter if you're spooling with braid? You'll never come close to spooling the reel unless you're throwing casting plugs on an 8' rod, and even then, probably not. The HRF has a fast level wind made specifically for braid. Not much of a point in using anything else, or there are better choices if you're thinking of spooling up with fluoro/mono, etc.
  15. I had a similar impulse November '22, but I went with the 7'7" Omen Green 2 7'7" M, 1/8-3/8oz. Really more of a ML, but it's an inshore rod, so a ML+. I like it. It does what I got it for well, which is launching lighter baits.
  16. My buddy was just up at Candlewood.
  17. The coastal 80 shares the same metal frame and side plate as the Tatula 80, but you get a deeper spool and a 100mm handle plus extra corrosion resistance. And it’s very small.
  18. Amen, and just as it'll be letting up, we'll go back into the freezer next week. Teens at night.
  19. Did you use something to protect the threads? That stuff expands. Good idea though. It's not brittle when it totally cures. That's why I went with the plastic bonder epoxy. It doesn't dry rock hard like well mixed standard 2-part.
  20. Nah, it's just speculation having not fished with them. However, there are a ton of good rods at the price point. The warranty is solid and if you find the Evolve reel seat comfortable try it and see. I just got a Muse Black and it's quite comfortable, IMO.
  21. Cool, man! Striper sandwiches?
  22. How do you intend to use it?
  23. It'll be fine. A clicking drag is pretty much useless for a frog reel unless you back it off after the hookset, and you'd never do that. It's about the same size as a Tatula CT. I barely see and feel difference holding them.
