  1. Some may know about this guy but if you don't and your kinda old like me this is a lot of fun to watch. RetroBassin https://www.youtube.com/user/RetroBassin/videos
  2. Got mine in 10 days! The best DC brakes out and easy on beginners. https://fishing.asian-portal.shop/category/select/pid/320557?gclid=CjwKCAjwuIWHBhBDEiwACXQYsRd3a_Wj3Xo_Dzq4SWSSVi2MYn9W5MFxQfZgf8akNI68NZ7MKk1lTxoCEcYQAvD_BwE and the Rod https://www.amazon.com/St-Croix-Mojo-7-1ft-Casting-Mjc71mf/dp/B011ISTP3U/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=mojo+bass+rod&qid=1625437456&s=apparel&sr=1-3 The $109 7ft MH/F Bass X by St. Croix is a nice rod as well. I have both and love them equally but the Mojo is SC3 which is lighter but not a whole lot lighter.
  3. I wonder what it would be like trying to set a hook 100 yards out with mono with a 9 medium action rod .......would you even feel the hit??
  4. My first big leap was a $99 Citica Bantum CU200 (which I still have) and it retired every low cost reel I had. I would re-tie everything to that rod just so I could fish it. That was the end of inexpensive BC's for me. All my Spinning combo's are lower shelf Diawa's, Pflueger's and Shimano's but they are not considered cheap in my eyes.
  5. Nothing to really damage. Break it down and clean and replace the lube. It has carbon drag not felt so no problem there.
  6. I love using clips on my pan fish spinning rods and bait casting cranks. Get yourself a pair of forceps for faster change outs, I usually lock my forceps on the clip and then tie the line on. They can be tricky without it. The clip ratings are usually higher than your line test.
  7. I like to try different line types by different brands just to waste the money and ruin what could have been a great day of fishing. ......well, That seems to be what I've been doing all this time!
  8. I work in Dallas every day, Did you get the address? I could swing by and pick it up and toss it in the mail for you. I run events and drive for Coca-Cola so there is a good chance I'm close one out of the five work days.
  9. Those are awesome. They look to be in excellent shape also. I take it out once in a while. My son get a kick out of fishing it. He is twenty-one and enjoys my old rods so they will eventually be his.
  10. An old Phillipson Fly rod eh? They were touted as the best back in the day, I know a little bout um! It's a great history ... Here is mine, It's a ultralight Phillipson Spin Fox.
  11. I've got a lot of smiles out of these posts, It's times like these that have pushed us to upgrades and the best equipment money can buy. You can say "what's money got to do with fishing?" well nothing ...But Fishing has definitely got something to do with my money and I don't regret it!
  12. I went from 6# mono to 4# CX copolymer florescent green. A definite gain in distance at 1/64 and a better hookset on my noodle like rod. I also put trout magnet skirts on some 1/32 jig heads and that was a small improvement also. Just stay out of the wind!
  13. I was gonna say 12# braid... It throws great with no twist on a spinning rod and makes weird sounds when you get hooked up as it comes through the eyes! That alone is worth it.
  14. The only Kastking product I own is their Tackle Bag, I got the blue one that holds 3600 boxes and it's really nice. https://www.amazon.com/KastKing-Fishing-Tackle-Bags-Freshwater/dp/B08LVKZK72/ref=asc_df_B07F2HV28F/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312142476371&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5379799891265406902&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026867&hvtargid=pla-568317658262&th=1 And the only Piscifun product I have and it will stay a part of my system. It holds two 3600 boxes and a 3500(terminal tackle). Great for walking around ponds or the banks keeping my hands empty for rods. I have two 3600 boxes set up for bass and two for Crappie and pan. https://www.amazon.com/Piscifun-Fishing-Bag,Outdoor-Storage-Pack,Water-Resistant/dp/B07XCKM1LZ/ref=sr_1_7?crid=29843Y45WDUDP&dchild=1&keywords=piscifun+tackle+bag&qid=1624572434&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=Piscifun+tackle+%2Csporting%2C191&sr=1-7
