  2. The good thing about living in Arkansas is it never gets too cold for the fish to bite. As I get older it is starting to get too cold for me to want to go. Deer season starts Saturday and will pause the fishing for a few weeks. Also, we have a power plant lake not far from here that stays warm most of the winter as long as they run the plant.
  3. For me its location timing presentation type color
  4. I love to jig fish, flipping, pitching, deep structure, and so forth. When I was younger I would fish a spinner bait all the time. Most exciting way for me is buzzbait fishing.
  5. One thing we like to do in the fall is chase stripers around with a spinning reel on 10 lb line. A good drag makes the difference in being able to land them or not. Every once in a while you get one that will try and spool you but its a blast.
  6. Prayers for a speedy recovery. You will be back at it in no time.
  7. It has been my experience with the minnows we have around here that they do not live very long. Most will die overnight unless you have a very good aerated cooler. It would be best if you could try to keep a few and see how they make it before you buy a bunch of supplies. Cool water temp, a bubbler of some kind, and fresh water every couple hours will help. Good luck.
  8. I prefer a longer rod for a buzzbait, seems to cast better and I get better hooksets.
  9. Enjoy it.
  10. When I was a kid hooked a rock with a crankbait just off the bank, made a swirls when I hooked it and fought it all the way to the boat thinking it was a big one. Also, one night on Bull Shoals I thought I threw my jig on the bank, went to jerk it into the water an my line starts going sideways, set the hook a couple times and a grey heron lands on the water and starts going crazy. It got loose pretty quick. Other stuff similar to what you guys have caught but those 2 are the most memorable.
  11. Thats awesome. He sounds like my dad. Lots of good memories made and are still being made on the water.
  12. Nice Catch.
  13. Oh the things we get into while out on the water. Once on a night fishing trip while relieving myself rod tucked under arm or at least I thought. In the drink it goes and as I reached for it in I fall in after it. I did get ahold of it though, soaked and cold the rest of the night.
  14. Good job. Jig fishing is one of my favorite ways to catch a bass. The main reason is because it can be fished so many different ways.
  15. Happy Birthday hope he catches a hawg with it.
