  1. Lethal Weapon is my favorite, I can’t stand most swim jigs with tuna hooks in them.
  2. I was a little confused by this too. I would definitely buy a few GXR rods if it didn't come as a combo....
  3. can you buy these rods separate from the reel?
  4. this is like the exact opposite of what I want in a rod lol. when I saw the thread title, I was worried they had ditched the cork.
  5. Wonder what the difference is between the HD series and the EVO besides where they’re Sold.
  6. I just saw a video on The Hook Up Tackle's youtube where Teckel is about to producing a 6'9" frog rod.
  7. One of the GSM sales-managers confirmed Sulphur Springs was closed. It's in the Dobyns facebook community for all to see.
  8. It's only St. Croix. Mojos were nice rods before the bizarre gimmick.
  9. I love those Legend Glass rods. Gorgeous.
  10. I’m sorry for being so sour Glenn, I should just keep my opinion to myself regarding St. Croix, I just loved everything about them. I loved that they were “boring”but maybe I’m in the extreme minority. I hope everyone enjoys their rods!
  11. To each his own and I’m glad you enjoy your rods. In my personal opinion they are moving more towards gimmicky Lews/Abu/13 fishing style designs and “radical!” rod names that are just cringe. Do we really need a fishing rod named “WARHORSE?” in trying to chase trends they have lost their way and a long-time customer. once again just my opinion.
  12. I couldn't have said this better myself. I've complained a lot about St. Croix on here but it's because I used to love them (15+ rods). I want a simple rod that is built well and looks classic, made in North America. Croix had that market covered. Nothing they have done appeals to me anymore, I have sold 10 of my rods and have another 5 to sell and I'm done. It bums me out, but the company is just different. Someone made a joke about Pure Fishing owning them soon, but the fact is PF owns Fenwick and those rods have COMPLETELY made a turnaround for the better, and I am considering trying a new HMG or Elite. If not Fenwick then maybe Falcon, or even try a Loomis, who knows. I constantly see adds on instagram for the PHSYX rods and just think to myself "why would anyone actually want to buy a rod with a handle that looks like a spaceship?"
  13. is this the travel rod? What line do you like to use?
  14. I don't know how serious you are about doing this, but man it sounds awesome. I've been thinking of doing something similar to be honest....I have too much clutter on the water and in my head haha.
  15. Sadly I don’t think I’ll ever buy another St. Croix.
  16. Didn't Rapala acquire 13 Fishing recently? I love the Terminator Pro's jig, and sent Rapala an email asking if it was being phased out since I noticed it was on sale everywhere like you did. No response back from them.
  17. Handle looks like a spaceship. 😕
  18. I miss shorter rods. Was really sad that the refreshed Avid line from St. Croix didn't have anything less than 7' in casting.
  19. I've been wanting to try one. Didn't care for the Victory models.
  20. this is definitely my choice. Love the hook size on these, can't stand the giant tuna hooks most jigs come with.
  21. I've always wanted to try Falcon but was bummed to read a little of their history and learn about their move overseas. So I've stuck with St. Croix. I prefer shorter rods and so maybe soon I'll try a Head Turner...
  22. I love my Premiers and the blue BassX rods are great as well, the issues came with the generation that had the lime green "BassX" on the blank.
  23. I loved St. Croix, my old Avids are my favorite rods. Bought a whole pile of Victory's and had problems with the foam in the reel seat. Friend had a Bass-X reel seat come unglued. I feel like they're spreading themselves too thin with development of reels/new rods/blank materials etc and aren't focusing on what they used to excel at; building extremely durable rods. I broke a Premier and the warranty process for me at least was 10/10, however I assume it went smoother than most because of the particular model I had.
