  1. My name is Jared Herman and I am a freshmen at Ramapo High School in North Jersey. I want to participate in high school fishing this year but I don't have a boat or Captain. In the previous years I was given a captain for the Junior BASS tournaments but this year I have to find my own. I though it was worth a shot asking on this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated. There is only 3 (maybe 4) tournaments. I will post the schedule. Thanks, Jared May 18//Assunpink Lake June 15//Manasquan Reservoir July 20//Swartswood Lake (State Championship) August 11// TBD
  2. IMG_8819.HEIC Picked up new jig combo St.croix LTB 7-1 mhf with a Shimano Chronarch MGL 150
  3. I have been looking into the same type of bag. I think I'm going to go with the advanced anglers sling bag from bps. But if you have more than one box of tackle I would definitely go with the Tackle Wearhouse bag. I got one last year and it made my fishing trips so much better. They are very well made and have a ton of pockets. My favorite part is the rod holders that are on the sides. I usually bring a spinning and casting rod with me and I fish with a lot of high end gear so I love that I'm able to but my rod in the holder instead of in the dirt. I want a separate sling bag because when me and my friends go to private ponds we do a lot of moving around so it would be nice to have a separate bag that only hold a little bit of tackle.
  4. Thanks guys, I just bought the LTB and I'm very happy with it. Can't wait till the spring so I can get out there and use all my new gear.
  5. Im looking to buy a new jig rod for bass fishing. I have a deal on a used LTB rod but I'm not a fan of the grips. I like the looks and lightness of the Avid x but I'm not sure about the sensitivity. Has anyone used both and could tell major difference in the sensitivity of the rod? Rod would be 7' or 7'1'' mhf or mhxf
  6. Does anyone know of a warm water discharge in the New Jersey/New York/Pennsylvania area? I heard there is one on the Potomac River but I cannot find it.
  7. Which one is better for light drop shot fishing. Im looking for a smooth drag and smooth retrieve
  8. Is there anyone who has used both of the reels and knows what the drags are like?
  9. I am looking to buy a new spinning reel for around $100. I would put this reel on my dropshot rod. I want a reel that would have supper smooth drag just like my stradic but I cannot spend the money to buy another one. I was looking at the Shimano Nasci and the Diawa Fuago but I wasn't sure which one has smoother drag.
  10. Does anybody know any places I could catch smallmouth from shore in North Jersey? I live in Bergen county.
  11. I'm looking at the the St. Croix LTB MH and is rated 3/8-1oz. I don't like when my rods are too heavy for what I am throwing. Will this be the case if I use this rod for 3/8oz jigs since the minimum rating is 3/8oz?
  12. I'm looking for a new rod to pair up with my Shimano Chronarch MGL. I want something that would be good for throwing 3/8 ounce finesse jigs. In between $200-$300 would be what I would want to spend but I could go a little over that if necessary. I would be using 15 pound fluorocarbon on this rod and I don't fish heavy cover so a reel heavy rod wouldn't be necessary. I was thinking something at least 7 feet but I see a lot of people saying medium power and a lot of medium power rods don't go over 6'10''.
  13. Has anybody used the St.Croix Avid X ML spinning rod? I know that the avid x has the same blank as the mojo bass but the the avid is made in the USA and has a better finish on it. Is it worth the extra $70 or should I just get the Mojo bass?
  14. I am looking to buy a new drop shot rod under $200 I would like a ML fast or extra-fast action I usually fish 1/8oz or 1/4oz depending on the depth I rarely fish more than 30 ft deep I was looking at the st .croix, diawa, and shimano
