  1. Long story but I will try to make it short. 05 Nitro 929 CDX DC, great shape, new carpet , seats, fish finders, trolling, radio, most wiring, batteries. 05 225 opti just blew lower end, won't go into gear. This happened after taking to my machinic because it wouldn't plane. He ended up changing plugs and dialing it to run better, paid $485. He wanted me to test it. Took it out and lost the lower unit in minutes. Brought it back and he drained the lower end and we saw black lube and some silver shavings. Suggested to put SEI lower end in for about 2k but is concerned with compression numbers. #1 92 / 95 / 100 / 100 / 85 / 90 in order. Don't know how he tested but it is at a reputable dealer and where i store and service my boat. Bought it in 3/2017 with 599 hours on the engine from South Carolina probably put less than 100 hours since then. I am in Buffalo so my fishing window only goes to 12/1. Should I be concerned with the compression numbers and age of it? I have can get a brand new 200 merc for 13k plus install taxes and parts (if needed) from Bass Pro. Ideas?
  2. I did go to that web site, that was a link to it.. I am still looking for suggestions...
  3. Right now, I have zero expectations or experience with i-pilot. I just looked it up and got more details on it. If I need / want the extra features of i-pilot link I should get a Hummingbird FF, I guess. Does Follow on i-pilot link follow the weed edge or shoreline? Is it worth the extra money? Should I get link or not? Again I am looking for 2 new FF and a Trolling motor. I also really want something that is easy to operate but using the top technology. Being on a river with wind most times, I want something to keep me on course but doesn't have too much messing around with my feet of hands.
  4. Hi All, I am new on here. I have a 2006 Nitro 929cdx, 3rd owner. I am looking to update my electronics over the fall / winter. I am looking for a Console and Bow fisher finders (FF) with I-Pilot or similar. I mainly fish for SM bass on the Upper Niagara River in Buffalo. I think the I-Pilot will help me very much. So I guess I am limited to Hummingbird and Minn Kota. I do not want to break the bank but would like something that is up to date. I always fish the front of the boat so I think I rather have a better FF up front. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Do I need to stick with Minn Kota and Hummingbird? All suggestions are welcome. Thank you very much Jeff
