  1. I dont live in MI but visit every spring. Being in a large city like you are it makes fishing hard to go somewhere real close to the house as its probably all over fished. (Like it is here in Louisville) Looking at the map I would find streams/rivers that feed into the main lake. Being a fellow bank fisher is is sometimes hard to get out to that deep water for those monsters. Lucky for us the fish are moving shallow to feed and get ready for the winter. I attached a screen shot of where I would go first if I was in your area... Look for those points My second choice would be here in the tailwaters. Hope that helps and you catch lots of fish
  2. I have been trying to find places to fish at night around Louisville and I find all the parks have huge signs and gate lock signs at sunset. I was thinking about fishing at the taylorsville lake dam but can not find anything online whether fishing is allowed at night there. Anyone recommend any night bank fishing places? And, does anyone know if you can fish the dam at night?
  3. I have tried both methods and have found that when I wade up stream past where I want to fish and do a little fishing for a bit and then come back down stream slowly and softly as I can and cast down stream I get a lot more bites. I am guessing that the fish are facing towards me and the lure is smacking them in the face in the current. One of the big factors is where is the sun.. I keep my shadow behind me. I have tested putting my shadow in front and a fish chases the lure and gets close to my shadow and takes off bc I am a huge predator silhouette.
  4. I use the Deeper Start model. My choice was because its my first gadget like that and felt the pro version had a bunch of extra features that I wouldn't really use from the bank. But, I will say that the pro version has an extra accessory that you can attach it to your kayak later down the road if you decide to buy one. I am probably going to try to just pull my start model along side me on a rope when I get my kayak to start with. The Deeper Start has been a game changer for me though. For example, I have been fishing this area all summer thinking it was around 7 to 8 feet deep and it turns out that the center area is around 18 feet deep and there were a bunch of fish below where I had been fishing this entire time. If you were closer I would meet up with you and let you use mine for a bit and see what you think of it. But that's a long car ride. ?
  5. Hello everyone! I picked up a fishing pole at Walmart on a whim that I wanted to try and catch a fish. Little did I know I would be opening the door to something I really enjoyed. Since my first catch in June of 2018 (a catfish), I have been very actively reading and watching videos about fishing and going fishing at least 2 to 3 times a week. I have pretty much become a fish-a-holic. In July I decided to try and catch a Largemouth to see what the hype was about and I was hooked into fishing and I knew then I wanted to compete in a tournament. With the help of a couple of anglers around me that were already competing I began building my collection of lures and practicing constantly with them. With the hopes to compete in 2019. I heard about this website in several videos I had watched so I decided to come on over and check it out in hopes to network and meet others who are excited in Bass fishing.
  6. Hello everyone! I just signed up for the forums and a very active Bass angler in Louisville KY. Always looking for someone to go fishing with and learn new things.
