Thanks for the report!!!Last time I was out there they a big construction project and pumping alot alot of water which stirred up the bottom,the water in the canal looked terrible and vegeation floating around in the middle of the canals,is that still like that out there?Thanks!!!

I went yesterday and hard habits are hard to break ,I started the day off sitting down throwing a variety of soft plastic trig baits, got a handful of fish that way,than I stood up throwing my favorite baits,topwater, caught a lot more and I was just happier, I was in element standing throwing topwater and more confident it's my favorite technique for fishing,when im throwing topwater in my mind it's when are they gonna hit it not are they gonna hit it,I'm more confident throwing top water than any other technique I've done. I don't think there is anything more exciting than seeing a fishes wake behind your bait and exploding on it.But needless to say I'm sore but d**n that was a fun day!!!?

I think your avg person doesn't realize how physical fishing can be.

My nickname to my friends is full throttle and 30 years of manual labor will do some damage to your body,I do miss power fishing but sitting down and worm fishing has made me notice alot more things in the areas I'm fishing and slowed my presentation down and in turn producing more fish funny how things work out?

I just turned 51 got a very physical job been doing it for 30 years starting to really feel it,before I could stand all day on boat deck just throw and throw now it's become more sit down throw worm out there and work it slow,all that said I'm very happy I can still physically do my job and still be able to fish and enjoy being on the water.

I was curious if any health issues changed how you fish? Reason I ask is got a bad knee and I love to standup and fish throwing a variety of moving baits and slower baits,but recently my knee pain has gotten so bad I've had to sit and fish,been worm fishing more than normal,that technique seems to be easier for me to sit and fish and be productive.

I'm pretty sure holiday park and sawgrass recreation in Broward off of US27 still rents Jon boats,if you go to holiday park fish L67 canal,if you go to sawgrass recreation fish the canal that runs to the east both spots can't go wrong using a uvibe speed worm June bug Texas rigged 1/8 oz- 3/16 oz buzz it on top,swim it,worm it, would be your safest bet.

I like gambler big ez on 5/0/1/8 oz weighted swimbait hook.

How does the ALX Zolo compare to the Dobyns fury as far as sensitivity goes?

I got a few tatula reels matched up with fury's they are really nice rods very balanced and light, just not as sensitive as I would like for worming. The tatula reelsbare great so I'm sure the rods are just as high quality for that price range.

Looking for 7' med/heavy 1/4 oz -1oz,been reading a lot of positive things about ALX Zolo rods

Flats are shallow water areas to fish.If you head towards the west from the boat ramp on right hand side of the canal there is entrances to the flats and if you continue in West canal towards the north there are more cuts into the flats,be very careful going in the flats you can get lost in there very easily,mark waypoints ,you DONOT won't to spend the night out there....

145,000 acres you can fish the canal or the flats plenty of room for everyone

It doesn't sound like you are being sensitive,I've fished with all different types of guys, between work and family it's nice to get on the water and just have some peace and quiet by myself. Keep doing what you are doing being proficient with a variety of lures will make you a well rounded angler?
