  1. Or any other rod suggestion with similar action/power and price range that would be available in Canada ?
  2. Hi ! I'm looking for a new spinning rod mostly used for tubes for Father's Day/Season Opening. I'm currently using a G.Loomis E6x that I've never been quite satisfied with (hate reel seat) I've been eyeballing the Halo KSII Elite in 7' MH. Rod will be paired with either a Piscifun Carbon X or a Carbon X II both in size 2000. Any users of the KSII around here ?
  3. My go-to ned rig setup is a 6'9" Fenwick HMG ML/F. This is one of my most often used setup so I might upgrade it to something higher end and likely XF.
  4. Well, then I'm on the chase for a 6'7"-6'9" MH-XF spinning rod. I used a crucial but now they can't be found.
  5. Following as I might feed the bait monkey the E6x during Winter cold months
  6. I have that exact rod ! Bought it for chatter/spinnerbaits but end up using it for plopper topwater clones (Choppo)
  7. I only use leader on finesse rigs (dropshot/ned rig on ML rods)
  8. The SLX XT get ridden of the bushing replacing it with a bearing and also have SVS infinity. SLX replaced Caenan and SLX XT is replacing Citica in the Shimano baitcasters lineup
  9. Mine is on the cheaper side. SLX 7'2" heavy fast.
  10. I bought an Okuma TCS 7' MH/MF APC and like it. End up using it also for Choppo/Whopper Ploppers as well
  11. The Fenwick Lunkerstik would be an affordable choice. I also fished shallow divers with an EliteTech Bass M/MF.
  12. This is the original Phantom: https://www.amazon.com/Piscifun-Phantom-Baitcasting-Lightest-Baitcaster/dp/B074V63F14/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=piscifun+phantom&qid=1565092485&s=gateway&sr=8-2 The Torrent is a mag brake, phantom X is centrifugal and original phantom has both. I'd personnally refrain from buying a mag brake Chinese reel.
  13. Sadly Can't speak of KK as they are not offering their most interesting rods in Canada.
  14. I'd also try an xtra-fast rod over a fast if you can. I own both the Piscifun Phantom and the Phantom X. I prefer the original Phantom and since you're looking at a 7 speed, the original is 7.0:1. I own the 5speed of the X version for cranks. Either way be prepared to oil them before or right after first use... I'd also put the rod handle under your shirt's sleeve and even bind it there to your forearm. Also, make sure you can comfortably palm the reel. I suggest ordering the reel first and bring it in store to try it on the rod as rod's reel seats can make it a go or a no.
