  1. Managed to snag a pair of crappie today on a Walmart spinnerbait. I have never really been very good with one, and the bass today proved that much. I had an absolute blast using this one today and definitely want to expand my skills to include more of them. My question to you lot is simple, favorite spinnerbaits and why? Manufacturer, sizes, colors and blade configurations are all welcome.
  2. Lol, yeah, found both of them orienting to some form of structure a lot further out than I expected, I think it was a log but no real way to know, tons of fun though.
  3. Hit Anacoco lake again, grabbed these two beauties on a white Walmart spinnerbait with the silver colorado blade willow blade combo, no bass though
  4. It has been cold recently, was also from my understanding just post rainstorm. I'm going to try to get back out next time I'm home, weather dependent. The only free place I knew for sure was jammed with folk camping for the holiday. I'll probably focus on the crappie again, just because I ought to be able to get a few decent meals right from the bank this time of year. Can't wait to get out again.
  5. Not sure if it helps at all, but I use one of the ozark trail bags that holds 3 boxes, and has a few other pockets for a few other items. The bags are pretty affordable. It's handy for banks and you can swap boxes seasonally as needed, a backpack would probably be even more convenient.
  6. First trip for me this year. I won't complain about a dink, because it's better than spending my day having caught nothing. I think it's been pretty tough sledding all winter everywhere this year. Was hoping they would be moving up to stage for pre spawn but I'd bet it's still just not quite warm enough. Threw everything I had at them today except topwater, but they weren't interested in jerkbaits, jigs, lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, squarebills, t rigs, c rigs or anything else. Still, that little bugger got the fire lit proper again for the year...I'll be going out again real soon ?
  7. Well...went in search of some fun this morning and in the hopes of snagging a few Crappie, but no such luck. Did manage to catch one dink on about 1/8th oz jighead paired with a curly tailed grub, never seen that before lol. No crappie and the only other bite in 5 hours was a catfish a fella near me got on a worm.
  8. State to state, and I usually purchase annual licenses for LA (home state) and TX. The others are infrequent enough that day licenses serve me well enough, probably 85%+ of my time I spend in either TX or LA.
  9. I abhor inefficiency. Organization is the only reliable and repeatable cure I have ever found to consistently reduce or eliminate it. I freely admit that it does not qualify as a terribly fun way to spend time. I often pair things like tackle box sorting with watching sports etc. I find that helps keep it from becoming too tedious.
  10. Great stuff so far gang. Thanks for all the input, the tackle backpack is an idea I have been seriously considering for a lot of the reasons mentioned already. Looking through my Terminal tackle box, it's becoming clear that it is the first one I'll be focusing on organizing and stocking. Should be a fun little project for this weekend.
  11. Not sure if it's super helpful, but I primarily run/fish in the states of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma
  12. Hey guys and gals, quick question for you lovely people. I am trying to put together a smaller tackle bag setup for fishing while I'm on the 18 wheeler. So far I've decided that I could probably do well by bringing along a 7' MHF rod, paired with a 6.X:1 or 7.X:1 reel, and a 7' MM spinning rod. I have got enough room for about 3 3600 size tackle trays, plus a few bags of plastics. This will be entirely focused on bank fishing, and one of the trays will be dedicated to terminal tackle. What are the baits you folks would fill the other two boxes with? I am open to at most 1 additional rod if it is an absolute necessity, but I'd really prefer to keep this setup as stripped down as possible.
