I purchased a bag of the punch craws last year and tried them out last night. Very impressed! I hooked a giant but horsed the fish and lost it at the boat. Caught several other keepers. Just Texas rigged on a 3/0 hook. Has anyone else tried Baits from tight lines? The punch craws are expensive for getting 3 in a pack. Pretty durable plastic though.

I would go with the lews hyper mag or the lews custom pro speed spool. You can get either on eBay right now for 200.00 brand new

I think everyone took this wrong. The weight doesn’t bother me at all. Everyone has an opinion. That’s the only thing I didn’t like about the reel but I’m fine with the weight. I too use to throw some heavy reels back in the day. Funny you mentioned the sound. I guess there is 2 things I’m not crazy about. It’s pretty loud lol. Even when one clicks it. I will say an angler will get more fishing time in not dealing with loose line. That I love. It’s my second favorite reel. Highly recomend it. I just recomend the team lews custom pro a fraction bit more. The MGX is abu right? How do you like those reels?

Haha I wasn’t complaining. I said it wasn’t that big of a deal. I just like my lews better. I would totally buy another dc though No doubt I just don’t like the bulky Reels. I use to toss some heavy quantum’s and diawas back in the day

You need to look at the Phenix Maxim rods at tackle warehouse. I got the 6 10 medium heavy 1/8 up to 3/4

I own a Dobyns micro savy rod. Let me tell you my friend it’s my favorite jig rod. You may can find them on eBay. They may have quit making them. I pair it with my Revo Rocket and can use it for all kids of techniques. I highly recommend Dobyns

I bought the Curado Dc 8:5 gear ratio. I have taken it out on 3 night trips fishing shallow water. I paired it with a Phenix Maxim 6 10 medium heavy rod 1/8 to 3/4 ounce. I’ve been tossing a 1/8 Texas rigged paca craw and have been smoking the large jaws. The only thing I don’t like about the reel is the weight. It’s 7.8 ounces maybe. Which isn’t even that big of deal. I recommend this real but I will say I do like my team lews custom pro speed spool just a little better.

I’m mostly a jig and plastic guy, so I guessing the 8.5 gear ratio? I know what you mean haha. I have been selling like crazy on eBay and the fishing fund is so far 550.00.

I’m a jig man! I throw jigs year round. I normally toss Chompers football head jigs with a zoom swimmin chunk or a netbait paca chunk trailer.

Im getting ready to purchase 2 reels. I’m a little torn with the new reels about to hit the market. I’m normally a lews guy. Anyway,my choices are Lews Hyer Mag, lews lite speed spool, lews pro magnesium, the 10-1 revo rocket or the new shimano dc. Let’s hear your opinions or thoughts.
