  1. Megabass isn’t included right?
  2. Guys Summerland Outdoors is a having a huge spring sale. I believe they still have lots of Z Man chatterbaits for $10 if you dm them on instagram and mention “megabass elite” sent you they will give discounts on Megabass items including rods. @summerlandoutdoors on IG https://summerlandoutdoorsga.com
  3. Hey guys, any of you know if the spring BPS sale will include the Garmin 106SV deal for $999? missed out on the thanksgiving one and I’m hoping they do it again.
  4. I threw it on the Whipsnake and it seems to still bother me. I’ll take it out on the water with it and see if I can adapt but if it still bothers me I’ll probably end up selling it and getting another Tatula LT.
  5. Good idea. Originally I wanted a reel for my Whipsnake but I ended up throwing it on my P5 Windbuster so I’ll switch it to the Whipsnake and see if the grip changes. thanks!
  6. I’m so sorry, I meant to say the arm where the reel foot is. NOT the actual handle. The handle is perfectly fine. Sorry for the confusion, I’ll fix my post.
  7. So after getting a day out with the Vanford I have to say, I don’t like the reel foot arm on it. I keep finding it gets in the way of my knuckle unless you fully wrap your fingers around it with a firm grip. I’m used to slightly holding my Daiwa’s and the angled bar on the Vanford gets in the way. I will mention if you are someone who likes to fully wrap your hands around your reel, it does feel like it’s more secure than the Daiwa would be so reeling in heavier fish would never be a problem with grip. This is my first Shimano spinning reel so I wasn’t aware of the way the handle changes angle earlier than the Daiwa’s do and no stores around me carry them for me to hold. The reel is extremely smooth and feels good. Unfortunately I had a horrible day on the water so I can’t comment on how it performs with a fish on but I’m sure its great. Heres a couple pics of what I mean about holding. The left pic shows me with a full wrapped around tight grip where my knuckle is passed the reel foot arm and the pic on the right is how I normally hold my Daiwa’s with a lighter, less firmer grip but the arm on the Vanguard hurts my knuckle. I could get used to fully gripping so the arm doesn’t bother me but when I drop shot with light lures, I tend to find myself barely holding the reel arm for some reason. I might be crazy but I’m wondering if there’s any of you that use Daiwa reels and notice the Shimano arm get in the way?
  8. I looked at the Vanquish but didnt want to spend as much on my 4th spinning reel. For me, the differences between the higher end spinning reels in the $500 range and the reels in the $200 aren’t that far off. Of course they’re built better with better parts and are smoother but when I’m drop shotting, it’s not like it makes such a big impact for me personally. I didnt find myself reaching for my Certate over my Tatula LT this past summer. This is of course, how I feel about spinning reels in those price ranges. With baitcasters it’s more of a difference for me to really notice.
  9. I dunno, I never had an issue with pp v2 super slick. I have Daiwa j braid on some other reels and still prefer the pp for some reason. But this Fireline is way too thick, the 20lb feels like it’s 80lb test. It’s terrible.
  10. Ordered the Vanford 2500. Great review on the tackle tour site and they gave it 8.5. Appreciate all the help everyone! UPDATE: would of loved to give a review but after visiting bass pro to buy some power pro v2 super slick, they had zero stock and the employee told me the next best thing is Berkley Fireline so I got some 20lb braid to try. After being out on the water I made my first cast and said to myself what in the else is this? The diameter was so thick it was like rope. It casted terribly and now I have to remove it and I’m waiting for my PP v2 order. Have any of you used Fireline? Is this normal?
  11. Ordered the Vanford 2500. Great review on the tackle tour site and they gave it 8.5. Appreciate all the help everyone!
  12. wow thank you. A lot of great info here. I always use either 15 or 20lb braid with a 6 or 8 lb fluoro leader so I’ll go with the smaller spool. When I’m dropshotting I don’t cast too far so I don’t need as much line on the spool because I’m constantly using my livescope. thank you so much for all the help!
  13. Really nice real, especially at it’s priced point. Just wanted to try something new. Always like the idea of mixing up different models to get some experience with them. thanks Appreciate your feedback. I’ll definitely be considering either the Vanford or Luvias. For the Vanford, do you recommend a 2500 or 3000. I believe the 2500HGF and 3000XGF are 6.3 oz. do the letters mean high gear and extra high gear? What would I need for strictly drop shots on this light set up? thanks! Also thank you so much for your help @jbsoonerfan and @bulldog1935
  14. thanks for your help. have you ordered from Asian Portal before? What are duty fees coming in to the US? Also what would shipping cost for a reel? thanks
  15. Hi everyone, I currently own a Tatula LT 2500 and a Certate LT 3000 and I need another light spinning reel for my Megabass Whipsnake and wanted to try something new. I do enjoy the Certate but it is a tad bit heavy. I’m so used to the Tatula LT so I’m leaning towards a reel that’s around the Tatula LT’s weight which is 6.2 oz to compliment the light weight Whipsnake. Preferably Daiwa or Shimano, what do you guys suggest? thank you
  16. Thank you guys for all your help, I’ve decided to move on from this boat and managed to find another one with low hours, longer warranty and no major work done! appreciate all you guys!
  17. I have no idea but a Merc technician is the one that ran the serial and told me the info. As far as jacking up the price, I don’t know if you’re aware but the boat industry is insane right now. Prices have never been higher and these dealerships are not budging on prices because if you don’t buy it someone else will. I’ve been searching for a z520c for 2 months now and they have been selling within days at crazy prices. I can definitely ask for the paper work but I truly trust this dealership because they’ve been around a very long time and have an incredible reputation so I do feel safe purchasing from them.
  18. Ya I’ve also read other threads of people saying even when you replace a power head it doesn’t fix the problem that caused it to go in the first place if you’re not addressing it directly. But I am confident in the work because it’s a very reputable dealership that is a Mercury dealer as well and have only heard great things about this place. As for warranty, the salesman said it was for only 6 months but the gold warranty lasts until December which would surpass the 6 months from either February when it was done or even if they honored it now. I only fish for fun so I do tend to park my boat from about November to May but I always winterized my older 2003 Johnson (Suzuki) motor and every time I brought it out of storage it would start on the first key turn! I’m hoping these newer motors are similar. You asked if it’s a 2 or 4 stroke and the 2016 Mercury Optimax Pro XS that came with the Ranger Z520s I believe are all 2 strokes if I’m not mistaken. Appreciate your input!
  19. I Will double check tmw but I believe it was 440 hours on it prior. So the sales guy told me something about an injector hang up, lost compression in one cylinder. So I found out this specific sales guy is new so don’t know how accurate his info is but I can get more information tmw. As for the warranty, the original 3 years was expired but it has the gold which lasts 2 more years so this year in December it expires. I also found out by the serial # and a source that the power head and new DI on #6 cylinder in February. there’s also an open source bulletin on (2017-005) Air compressor reed plate that I should have the dealer fix before the gold warranty expires.
  20. Guys I’m in the market for a used Ranger with a Mercury Pro XS / (2016) and they’re saying the power head is a reman with zero hours and I have to break it in. Does that mean remanufactured? Now here’s my next question, does the previous hours on the motor have any affect on the lower end of the motor like the gear case or something? * it still has warranty until December of this year but I’m still worried. Sorry I’m not mechanically inclined. What do you guys think?
  21. Interesting. No ones mentioned that. I’ve never had poles so didn’t even know they can do that. Thanks for your help
  22. Ok thank you for all your help guys, I’ll ask him to take it to a shop and see if he’s willing to do it considering I’m about 12 hours away from him.
  23. Hey guys, Ive been looking for the right boat for a while now and found one but the owner tells me there’s some gel coat cracks which are normal but I am concerned and would appreciate some advice before buying. It’s in the rear left part of the transom off a 2015 Ranger Z520. I posted a close up pic and a location pic for a better understanding. What do you guys think? thanks in advance!!
  24. Guys 25% off qualifying 2 items at Kittery Trading Post with code: Tuesday25 *Megabass included in sale*
  25. Sweet. Didn’t know you can filter to offer. Unfortunately there’s none available when you do that, they’re all Tatulas and Zillions. *Edit* sorry I didn’t mention I wanted the Steez version. I’ll go back and correct my original post.
