  1. That's downright impressive. I was mental at the time.....all I cared about was bass fishing.....fished all evening and then checked in and fished a night tournament, then after the weigh-in I jumped back into the boat and fished until the mid afternoon.
  2. Some sort of deli sub usually, or leftover Chinese. Water and cream soda......usually try not to bring too many cream sodas, though, because I drink them like a madvillain and start getting all jittery. One time I went fishing for about 20 hours straight - brought a 24 pack case of creams and drank the whole lot of them along with an entire box of Little Debbie Star Crunches.
  3. Any of the Charlie-O variants (Big M "Marty's Charlie", Zoom WEC Wobbler). If you can find an original Charlie-O, they're great baits as well, and since they're foamies, you don't have to worry about what shape they're in so much (no water absorption). Bagley KB1 - 80's version with the short, round lip Zoom WEC: Z-Flat Coffin Lip, Hicky, and Deep Stumpy I already mentioned the HPF and Jackall TN/70. Always good to have a Petey-type around (I would consider the HPF to fall into this category). FlatShad Classic PT, RAM Pig Dog, original Little Petey. Also done very well with the RAM Luv Plug and Baby Pig. If you want a flatsided crank that will do cover, check the Baby Pig....the Zoom Mutt looks pretty much like a clone of it. Rapala DT divers are great baits.

    senko

Kamakazee makes a 5.5" stick that, in my short time checking it out (one day) seems to actually have the real Senko action....if not an even wider wiggle at times. Unfortunately, it's not that much cheaper, unless you're comparing it to the 6" Senko. Also picked up their hula grub (which looks fantastic in the water) and 6" Treat, which reacts in an equally fantastic manner. Pretty impressed so far with this company.
  5. Charlies rock! Great job, Thad!!
  6. As an ancient 30-year-old, I have learned my lessons and only practice responsible stokage.
  7. Just my opinion, but Daltry and Townsend playing with a backup band does not equal "The Who." That band died a long time ago.
  8. You should be able to find the HPF's on eBay from various Japanese vendors (I thought *** carried them as well(?) ) You won't find any U.S. distributors for WooDream......best chance for that is finding a contact in Japan who will buy you some and ship.
  9. I would consider it more of a suspense/thriller action movie than horror. One of my favorite films in life. Robert Shaw as "Quint" was top shelf. Great actor.
  10. "Frosty" Blue Cream Soda. Glass bottle, pulled from the freezer right as the ice crystals start to form. 8-)
  11. Jon, I've heard before you talking about the Air viper Risebacker and I've picked up a few of them, but in the colors I kinda liked, I could only get one sound-lo. how deep does the Imakatsu IK-400 run? I have had a little communication with FD, we've traded a couple baits, and he is going to send me one when he gets it complete. I haven't tried any of OPS HF baits yet. I'm trying to build up my custom made cranks also. Here is the Risebackers I picked up: I like the sound-lo version (and sound-less as well). They are livelier and have a slower fall rate than the sound-hi version, which makes them great for fishing shallow, clear water. The IK-400 will dive low-mid teens. Casts like a missile.
  12. Jaws
  13. I'm really hoping this is going to be as good as it looks. I'm a big fan of the original TRON so they had better do it some justice. The visuals are pretty psychoholic . . . If your computer will swing it, check out one of the bigger HD versions floating around. Looks like my chances of seeing a good sci-fi film this year might be improving.
  14. Here's a few that I like: Jackall TN/70 Air Viper Risebacker (disc...look on eBay) Imakatsu IK-400 Lucky Craft Flat CB SR (discontinued...again - eBay) OSP HPF Spec 2 and Blitz I've never used a crankbait from Megabass that I thought was anything more than "decent." I personally don't have time to throw "decent" cranks - especially at that price. Overall I've been pretty disappointed with the mainstream crank offerings from Japan.....you can really waste a lot of money on some of that stuff. They're great at designing jerkbaits, but a whole lot of the cranks I've bought have been pretty lame. For the price of a Jackall MC/60 I can think of about a dozen cranks that would wipe the floor with it. Unfortunately, some really great crank makers from Japan don't sell to the U.S. (WooDream, Nakamura, Flutter, T.H., FD, Kaihatsu).
  15. I love your shads - I'm glad you're doing more of them!
  16. You should be able to tell how deep your cranks go by just looking at them. If you can't, you should fish them more often.
  17. There are some models I like. The KB1 (with the short, round lip) from the 80's is one of my all-time favorite small cover cranks. The Florida-made DB3's are also great deep cranks for heavy cover.....some of the best for that particular scenario. I also like the old B-Flat shallow cranks with the squared lip. Early Bagleys are cool but very inconsistent. I have 3 vintage DB3's and every one of them is very different. The vintage Balsa B's are the ones that get all the attention. The special thing about them is that they have a tighter action than the new ones, and most newer baits of that style. Instead of the big dramatic roll and wiggle you're using to seeing on baits like the BDS2 or Fat this or that, it's a much tighter wiggle with a lot less roll.
  18. ANY condition. I believe it's obvious what firetiger is supposed to mimic - - a tiger that has caught on fire and jumped into the water to put itself out. Makes an easy target for a bass.
  19. Terminator and Rambo were both great movies!! Terminator: Salvation was probably the best of the sci-fi movies that came out last year. I think Avatar fits more in the profile of Toy Story and Ice Age. ;) Avatar is the Miley Cyrus of Sci-Fi.
  20. Visually very stunning. The story - - absolute poop. Had all the depth of a coloring book. How many times is Hollywood going to rehash this story? Are they really that devoid of creativity? It's almost like watching a Saturday morning cartoon ....you can pretty much guess what cliche' line the characters are going to say next. Normally I wouldn't care to give such a scathing review, but with the time and money dumped into this project, what they came up with is almost insulting. The technology should serve the story.....in this case, the story was pulled out of the same recycle bin that Dances With Wolves, Pocahontas, Last Samurai, on and on and on came out of. Pretentious BS. JMHO....don't hate me. ;D
  21. I've used the Rattle Snakie spoon....I'm not much of a deep spoon guy, though. They did as well for me as Hopkins. FWIW, Randy VanDam (KVD's brother) caught the Ohio state record smallie on a Rattle Snakie spoon.
  22. Very nice - - the lipless crank looks great!
  23. Looks like I'm gonna have to figure this one out myself. ;D I have a Weed Slinger on the way as well.
  24. I'm looking for soft swimbaits for fishing heavy cover. Stuff that is completely gnar - - twisted hedge-apple trees, cedars, blackjacks, etc... I've already ordered some 6" Mission Fish, but the Black Dog Weed Slinger looks like another good option as well. Any experiences?
  25. Very nice - - I really like that yellow sq. bill.
