Yea it's strange and bass pro which is where I bought mine along time agofor 60bucks has it missing on there too and has the word rare crossed out beside it I was shocked when I stumbled on these on ebay and seen them for that price even amazon cause I was wanting another one in rear drag but not for that price lol

Yea that's exactly what I was talking about I have used for bait runner purpose and did what I expected it to do so I assumed that what it was for myself

I wasn't for sure on the bait runner feature on this reel but when I looked at it it does a switch on top of the main drag that puts just enough tension for something to run off with bait but I'm still unsure what that's for tho This might be the same one I seen and when I read the description at the bottom it described it as front drag even tho it's showing rear drag in photo I could be wrong I did see one like that tho I know all the ones on ebay are going for close to that same amount in the photo I shared and cannot be found on any other website that I have searched it puzzles me

I thought so too and yea I've put mine thru a lot and it still keeps going probably one of the best reels quantum has ever made not the farthest casting but definitely one of the toughest

Agreed!! I'll be holding on to mine til it gives out.I love the double handle on them makes me feel like I'm reeling in a baitcaster sometimes lol

I have an older made in japan round quantum iron and a quantum heat that's pretty much the same reel just with a different model name.My wife has been wanting to go to this catfish pond that has some monster catfish in them I'm talking 40 pounders.I know this ain't a catfish forum but my question is do u guys think these reels would hold up to fish this size?The rods they are on are 6ft 6 meduim heavy they are very stout rods.I just trying to save some money and use gear I already have since I'm on a budget these days.

Almost 300 is what they are going for now I paid 60 new in box for mine I guess that's why it seems so strange to me and it is probably one of the best reels I have ever used i love the rear drag so much that all my spinners are rear drag but one

Hi everyone I was recently looking online for some reels and noticed that the shimano rear drag spirex the light blue ones is being priced for insane amounts of money for a reel that originally costed 60 bucks.does anyone know why these reels are being priced for so much?

I was in my local bait shop today and stumbled on these sanshou salamaders by yamamoto .I have never seen these baits before and to be honest they look like they would be really good just fished weightless like a senko.My question is has anyone on here used these and been successful and how do u prefer to fish them?I bought a pack in black blue flake to try out and haven't had a chance to see how they do myself yet.It seems nobody really rants about these like they do the senkos and finding reviews on them are close to none.

I was using bill lewis ratl trap but the hooks were some I put on that I got from ebay no brand on them or nothing but they were extremely sharp and string tho I really appreciate everyone's advice.I used some of the tips on here today and this time I nailed a pretty good one and got those hooks set perfect

It was 12lb mono

I was using a 7ft meduim heavy with moderate action it was the only rod I had on hand at the time usually I use a 6ft6 meduim with a fast tip for lipless cranks

I'm using the improved clinch knot I've never had this problem before tho but I was rushing to tie it on tho. Thank you for the advice I had no idea they made these lol Thank you for your input it's appreciated

Thanks for the advice. I never thought of setting them to the side I can see where it would be helpful I will try this next time out

I was just wondering how you guys set the hook with lipless crankbait or do set the hook at all?The reason I ask is I was fishing earlier with no luck at all and finally got a strike.I set the hook pretty hard out of habit cause I fish soft plastics and jigs a lot and I ended up getting my line caught up in my split ring on my hook and lost the fish pretty quick.I'm wondering if this is something I could have prevented by setting the hook properly or just one of those things that just happens.

I was going thru some of my rods and reel setups and I have a 7 ft light action rod with a fast tip paired with a shimano spirex it's the 1000 model.My questions is would this be a decent drop shot setup considering it is on the lighter side or would this be almost too light?I love the rod and reel and I just trying to find a purpose for it for my bass fishing.I originally bought it for crappie but I hardly ever fish for crappie anymore.

So I finally received my box from fishing care package after a long wait and in side was a brand of soft plastics called Attraxx. I believe they called this particular bait mystic eel.From research I did they have a feeding stimulate in then that triggers a fish to feed involuntary.Has anyone used these baits and been pretty productive with them?I don't know about the stimulate actually catching fish but the baits look really good and to me seem like they may have good action if anything else.

So I was sorting thru my tackle box and I keep a clear tackle tray full of various soft plastics mainly different zoom products but I stuffed a couple of zman jerk shadz in the tray a few days ago. well I discoverd this morning that when I opened my tray my Zman shads were almost melted they even damaged a man's jelly worm. this is not the first time it has happened once I did the same with a z man nedrig grub and it happened then too. I just thought maybe those baits was a Lil sensitive to heat cause I did leave my box in the hot car all day but obviously this is not the case .any suggestions on what could be causing these things to melt? I am assuming there is something chemical wise that just don't mix well with other baits but I've never had this issue with other baits either.
