  1. Oops, my mistake. By the dates on the posts it looked like it tapered off. I'll read through it again and see about donating to this cause
  2. 4 Years USMC 1/5 0331 - Machine Gunner 2x OEF deployments
  3. Sad to see that this idea appears to have tapered off. Would love to see more vets thanked for their service with something that brings them a little R&R.
  4. Thanks for the advice. Just sent a join request and waiting for the admins to approve. Thank you everyone else for the warm welcome!
  5. I agree, staying in closer to shore would help, but some of those boats create wakes that worry me in my 23' cuddy cabin. I've already scouted out a few no wake zones and little back channels that I could fish, but getting there may get tricky.
  6. Hey all, I'm new to the site but not to fishing. I've grown up around the lakes and rivers of Minnesota and have been a recreational fisher most of my life. Never took it serious but had a lot of fun doing it. I've recently moved a few blocks from Lake Minnetonka and am looking to learn the in's and out's of bass (and other species) fishing. I don't currently own a fishing boat so it makes it tough to actually focus and learn proper locations and technique. I am in the research stages of kayak fishing but I'm not sure how well that would work on such a big lake with extremely large boats. My hope is at some point in the next few years I'm able to enter a tournament or 2 and see what competitive fishing is all about. Looking forward to soaking up the knowledge from these forums and if any of you Minnetonka fishermen/women ever find yourself needing to fill a seat on an outing let me know!
  7. Hey all, new to the forums here so if this is the wrong place to post I apologize. I'm looking for a mentor or just a buddy to get out on the lake with and catch some fish. I'm not completely new to fishing, but I've never taken it too seriously. Now that I live a couple blocks from Lake Minnetonka I've become more interested in fishing and learning more about it. I don't have a boat, or at least a proper one to fish the right places, but I would be more than willing to buy gas, refreshments etc. if you happen to fish the area and have a spare seat in the boat that would be awesome! Looking forward to learning some stuff on here
