  1. A couple of tries at painting a bream pattern, top bait is cedar the other two are balsa. The pic doesn't show the ghost scales on the bottom bait done with flip/flop paint.
  2. That is pretty cool. Get a rod drying motor and let him build you one that can turn 20-30 baits and you'll be in business.
  3. That process is called photo finish, it is the same process as putting foil on a bait. The real trick is getting the pic to fit the size of your bait. It makes a cool looking bait, but is not the easiest process to master. That bait looks very good.

glad to see you are getting some baits painted, like the new color.
  5. 20/6 power pro or 14/4 stren super braid and the bait is 3 3/8 inches long.
  6. Very nice craftsmanship there, all of those baits look killer.
  7. circut board is not really stronger than polycarbonate, but it is half the thickness and that will give a you an extra foot of depth out of the same length lip. You can thin the front of a lexan lip to ultra thin but that is a lot of sanding with 800 grit sand paper. The only draw back with circut board is a lot of hard cranking in rocks, it will slowly chip. I've got some baits I been banging rocks with for over 3yrs and and lips are chipped a little but nothing that hinders the action.
  8. It would be real nice to see a comparison of KVD's lure up next to the baits being sold. I bet there is a big difference between the color on the two baits. Fritts was known to intentionally scuff his baits to give them a worn look and let the sun fade the paint before he fish with them. If he could have only fished a Big M Digger during his prime, no telling what the man could have won ;D
  9. very nice looking bait and a very interesting hing. As for paint you can go wrong with anything on top of a pearl white belly with just a touch of red on the throat. Keep the pics coming.
  10. top bait weighs .925oz, middle is 1.25oz, bottom bait is .875oz These baits are not for the faint of heart or weak wrist and forearms:)
  11. Here is something you won't find at BPS. The top bait is cedar and will hit 24+ casting. the bottom two baits are balsa and are 16+. I like to refer to these as subs.
  12. I'm not much of a jig fisherman, but it is a very cool looking concept. How about the Cajun Critter?
  13. I like them all, nice work with the feehand on the craw pattern.

    new colors

the clearcoat is brushed on, I just prefer to cover the rear hanger for a little extra protection.

    new baits

A few new baits I painted last night.
  17. If you are making bass cranks, forget about the thru wire harness. Get some 19 gage stainless steel wire and twist your own line ties and hangers. Pre drill a hole and glue in with 5 min epoxy. Those will not come out.
  18. Thanks for the kind words. I do have a day job and I avg. 4-6 baits sanded per day at my job My baits are like potatoe chips if you try 1 you'll want more.
  19. Cut the lip off flush with the nose of the bait and then cut a new lip slot. Now that's a simple version, you will have to make some adjustments as you go with this one. What are you hoping to achieve by changing the lips on those baits?
  20. M puppy has a very nice wobble for a small bait, along with good rebound/deflection off of cover.
  21. The bottom bait is brand new, this is the 2nd proto type and it's money.
  22. What lure are you talking about and a pic would be very helpful.
  23. tight wiggle in the cold, flatsided balsa cranks and traps.
  24. That bait is 2 1/4 long, weighs 3/8oz and will run 4-5 ft. It has a real nice back roll with a little tail kick. I'm still playing around with diff. lip patterns but it looks like the thumb nail is going win out in this bait.
  25. Here is a new round body style I've been working on. What do you guy think?
