The 10 min wait time lets the bubbles rise and lets the epoxy start to cure a little. It's so thin and runny that it will make waves as it's turning on the drying wheel. A real pain to sand those down before the second coat.
The top bait will hit 16-18 feet the bottom bait I'm hoping to hit 25 feet consistantly.
Lip size and enough weight to cast as far as possible. That's the trick to a deep diver. If the fisherman can only throw 125 feet the bait will never reach it's max depth. There is not enough line out to allow the bait to reach max depth. These two baits are weighted to the max and in the right fisherman's hands they will hit max depth.
I have no idea how much it cost to build a bait. Never really thought about it because it does not matter to me. If I were to take a guess then I would say less than 5 bucks per bait.
Way, are you kidding? Do you think I would spend 3-4hrs of my time building a bait that did not work. I catch fish all yr long on shallow running balsa cranks.
Here some new stuff, top two baits are 1/4 thick and made for light spinning tackle. 3rd bait down is a different wobbler style and the bottom bait is my newest magnum deep diver. I hope to get 25-30 feet out of that one.
Good looking bait. On the next one you need to cut the lip slot deeper, that lip will be easy to break out.
Were you looking for a wake bait with that one or a shallow diver?
I still cannot paint a straight line down the back of a bait. No way I could pull that off freehand. That is very impressive. Now work on the pic taking skills and get that bait zoomed in. No need for all the background just that great craw pattern
scuff the baits with 400 sandpaper, prime, and paint. Get a spray can of high gloss polyurathane(minwax) and 3 coats will give you decent protect from fish and hook rash. If you hit rocks or other hard stuff on the cast the baits are toast.
