  4. Some of you may know, I’ve been apart of the community for a good month now, just haven’t been able to formally introduce myself. I’ve been fishing since I was around 5 years old, slowly breaking away from my cat fishing roots, I will always have a soft spot for cats as that was what my father always fished for. He can’t fish anymore since being diagnosed with ALS last September. Thanks for all the help and support I’ve been shown on this forum and I’m looking forward to many more years to come in this community.
  5. I hear often on this forum about the classic tap tap bite. I’ve felt said bite, but what do I do? The one time I’ve felt the bite I set the hook and their was no fish? Just wondering when to set the hook and when not to.
  6. I’m no moderator, but I assume due to the information in the posting rules, relating to no advertisement for a specific company. Correct @roadwarrior?
  7. They’re much more powerful than most expect, the primary way of killing its prey for a bass, depending on the area and prey type, are normally crushing the prey or to just inhale them and let their digestive track do the killing. ( But that’s mainly smaller creatures.)
  8. Most likely spawning, the males actually use there fins and tails to keep the debris out of the nest and to clear out an area of a potential nest.
  9. I’m probably one of the younger members of this community, and I think lately that the attention span of the average young person is decreasing by the year. We have become a lot more reliant on modern technology and some of us haven’t been taught the principles of working for something, we seem to be giving up on things so much quicker, I’ve caught myself doing it as well, and I just remind myself that nothing worth having is easily obtained.
  10. I wouldn’t be worried persay, but I would keep an eye out, pay attention to how many you see and how often, size etc, if they are seen more and more often, I would reccomend contacting a local wildlife official.
  11. Are those sold at walmart or do I need to go somewhere more central to fishing?
  12. @Todd2 Will you send me a picture of those that you mentioned, I haven’t heard of them.
  13. @NYWayfarer I greatly appreciate it, I’m in walmart now and was about to go home without it. Now I’ll grab some and be on my way.
  14. @CroakHunterI can only find 8lb Berkley triline big game will that work? And can that go on a baitcaster? I have a silver Max and that’s all I have.
  15. I’m fishing medium heavy grass and weeds, my reel is a silver max on a 7”0” challenger rod.
  16. Thanks Troy, I’ve been looking for topography if that area!
  17. Sorry, but new to bass fishing, I’m using 20 lb red monofilament line and I’m wondering if it will effect anything?
  18. I’ve been fishing this same spot for months now. Using Glenn’s Senko technique recently hasn’t been working. I can’t move spots due to no ride. Watched a couple other fisherman catch though. Just me not catching I guess.
  19. Can’t leave that spot man. No ride. Can’t move around. Have to make do with what I have.
  20. Ok BR, I’m new to this community and I need some help. Look at the fishing pier area in front of the restaurant. I would really appreciate you guys giving some tips on the area. Such as where and what to fish. Thanks in advance. Tight lines. -FN
  21. Looking to spend some time in a tackle shop. What are some of your guys confidence baits I should grab while I’m there?
