  1. @Koz just spent an hour with a senko and an hour with a buzzbait. Nothing.
  2. @Koz I have seen plenty of bait, mostly fry. Nothing larger though. I’ll give a buzzbait a go.
  3. I’ve been fishing lake west point in GA from sunup, to sundown for four days now via a Kayak, I ‘ve looked for some deeper structure with no luck and have hammered every bit of shallow stucture i can find with everything from a Umbrella rig to a dropshot. Not. A. Bite. Water is suuper clear, at least for me. This is my first time fishing this lake. Air temps are 70’s in the morning and mid 90’s in the afternoon. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Honestly came here looking for your story. Was not disappointed.
  5. Loved it! Watched it as soon as it was posted! Thanks for the great content as always Glenn.
  6. I’m a budget angler, I have around 150 to spend on both a rod and reel and as of right now, my jig rod is a Skeet Reese jig/worm rod, the yellow and black one, and a silvermax. I may keep the silvermax and buy a new rod of better quality. May get a new reel as well. Any reccomendations?
  7. Bank @Catt
  8. Partial cloud cover, wind at 7 kn, high of 47 tommorow. Around 9 inches of visibility. What should I be chucking while I freeze? Lake Harding Alabama.
  9. Sadly i am not in the financial situation for that right now, but eventually i will.
  10. Been building it for months, from a base model jon found in a backyard. Very proud of the work and time i have put into it.
  11. My jon boat is almost done, i made a wooden deck, carpeted the whole thing, mounted a 35 johnson on the back, a minnkota 30 on the front, but i live nearest to lake harding alabama and ive always been stuck to the bank. So my question is, where do i start? How do i begin my fishing from a boat journey, where should i start fishing?
  12. Greatly appreciate all the advice and reccomendations!
  13. I’ve been bass fishing for a round a year and half now, the fish I have caught, have all been on senkos and one jig fish in which I got lucky and found a brushpile under a ledge and somehow managed to pull said fish in without setting the hook, I am simply limited on the amount of time i get to fish, but, although successful, I want to exit the senko stage and enter something somewhat more advanced. I have tried many other baits, and am sad to say after hours upon hours I must be doing something wrong. Jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits. I am not having successful outings. ANY help is appreciated.
  14. As we drudge through the horrible toe nipping, finger freezing winter, I have a question for you Jig fanatics out there. How does your retreive vary throughout the various weather changes. Do you change your “cadence” in the winter?
  15. Threw a spinnerbait all day today, threw to some shallow wood, deep wood, shallow rock, deep rocks, channel edges, and every other thing i could reach, what baits would you be throwing in alabama river systems and lakes right now?
  16. I’ve heard from many anglers that boat ramps can be big producers for bank anglers. How might one go about fishing a boat ramp. Lure selection etc.
  17. Multiple questions. By spot do you mean the cover or each 10 ft or so? And instead of the top mid and bottom, could I use a bait that covers the whole water column?
  18. So after you have fished all the shoreline cover you can see what do you do? Target deeper water? I’m a bank fisherman. So I can’t just move.
  19. I’m a new fisherman. I recently caught a decent sized fish on a jig and I honestly just pulled up and reeled it in. Didn’t set the hook. Didn’t know the fish was on. How do I detect the bite on a jig? I’ve seen many people say they are very hard to detect? After I started reeling I saw/felt my rod start to bend fight on its own so I knew it was a fish. Just wondering how many bites I missed.
  20. I’m fairly new to bass fishing. I wouldn’t say I’m a very new fisherman, I have a few confidence baits, have caught a PB of 5 pounds, and have caught around a total of 100 largemouth. (Fishing Journal) I was fishing a spot I’ve just found only caught one fish there, tossing a jig into deeper water, so I figured today, I would do just that. Toss a jig deep. As I was doing this, a yaker came by. Just tossing a Senko and cruising through. He went by me and saw how deep I was throwing. He chuckled a bit and said “Hey watch this” He threw right under my feet. In about a foot or less of water. Pulled out around.a 2 pounder. I finished the day with a skunk. Due to my mode of transport saying it was time to go. But I definitely think I’ll be fishing some shoreline cover next trip. Tight lines folks. And these folks know what they’re talking about. Don’t wait to follow advice. Just listen to those who are older in my case, and definitely wiser.

  21. First ever jig fish. Falling in love with this style of fishing. Didn’t even know she was on, but I had a gut feeling that it wasn’t a rock. Set the hook and up she came.Great fight. 2.64lbs and 12 inches.
  22. Going to Chewacla State Park in Alabama. One time thing so I don’t know what to throw where to fish etc.
  23. Switched spots and fished my freinds privat dock on the same lake. Caught my first bass. She’s a bit small. But size doesn’t matter to me. She fought like a truck so I thought I had a cat on.
  24. How would I go about repairing a damaged guide? Because I do hear a loud scratching noise during reeling.
