  1. I always wondered. Most of us, I assume, learned on spinning gear, casting right and reeling left. Why do people change to casting right and then changing hands to reel right on bait casters? Didn’t you just re-teach yourself at that point to work the rod with the the non dominant hand? I learned to fish on spinning gear casting right and spinning left. I just started using casting gear about a year ago and never thought about reeling right as it just didn’t make sense to me to even try. With what hand did you all START (when you learned how to fish) reeling with and if you changed, why?
  2. ^^X2 Very good rods for the money.
  3. How cool is that?! Now that’s fishin’!
  4. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  5. This is the key. A sudden death is all too common. Prioritize and cherish. Regret is a painful experience.
  6. If I could fish with anyone...I’d love to have one more day dragging a Carolina rig with the man who taught me, my dad.
  7. A good friend took me out for my first time winter fishing deep structure. First time drop shotting also. Worked hard for 7 fish in about the same amount of hours. Had a great time, learned a lot, and great company.
  8. Good point, and as someone who fishes on a reasonable budget I can appreciate the reasoning. I also know that a lot of my fishing purchases will one day go to my 3 kids as well. That just adds to the enjoyment of it for me ?. Thanks for the tip.
  9. Take a look when u get a chance. Compare the actual receipt to the ebay transaction. I thought it was interesting.
  10. I don’t know if the carbonlites are Garcia’s or not. I do know that I have a few and I love them so far. Super lite, sensitive, and strong. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were Garcia though as they are stout rods for their ratings. I got the same one. Was that receipt weird or what? Couldn’t figure that out.
  11. What would you say gives the falcon such an edge in your opinion? Never fished a bucoo so trying to learn some characteristics of it.
  12. Thanks guys for your thoughts. Appreciate the help. Tight lines!
  13. Thanks all, for the replies and opinions. I appreciate it. Looking forward to puting this to use!
  14. Thanks, maybe it’ll be double duty for those. Is the EF tip ok for frogging?
  15. Thanks for the reply. I love mine also and have read great things about the bucoo sr too. The price right now on the 2.0s are great.
  16. It’s a carbonlite 2.0, 3/8-1 oz. Is the EF tip ok for crig or what would you use this rod for?
  17. Between the two rods which would you choose. The bucoo is 7’4” heavy, thinking Carolina rig/bottom contact. The carbonlite 2.0 would be 7’ M/H, multi purpose, but probably more bottom contact also. I have some other 2.0s and they seem to run a touch heavy and from what I’ve read the bucoos run a touch lite, so thinking they will be about the same rating in reality.
  18. Anything with an L is left hand retrieve. H is 6.3:1 HS 7.3:1 XS 8.1:1
  19. Agree, especially at that sale price! A solid rod. Very lite, sensitive, and strong rod. Under the radar imo and a steal at $80.
  20. X2, I have a few of these setups and I love them. For this sale price it would be hard to beat this combo, imo. Trying to fight the monkey myself on a few more for this price.
  21. The calm before the Black Friday storm?
  22. I’ve often wondered the same thing. What others think about the rod for its price point. I have 5 that I bought on sale when I started getting back into fishing after a long hiatus. One 6’8” spinning, med/xf for lighter drop shot, shakey head, weightless worm etc. the rest are baitcasters, m/mod, m/f, my/xf, and h/f. Read good reviews and the price was right. I’ve been impressed with their performance and they are light and balanced, which I appreciate. The med/mod has good parabolic bend and the cranks movements translate well into the hands. The m/xf spinning is actually the one I’ve used the most so far. I have braid on it and all of the rest. I don’t know if I’ve just never used a decent rod or what but I swear I can feel every little tick with these rods. It amazed me the first fish I felt bite and set the hook on with these. They are strong, lite, and sensitive. The fit and finish could be better compared to some of the other rods that I’ve aquired since then, but the overall performance, weight and sensitivity for the price I paid, I feel was a great bargain.
