I have the chirp 93sv and only find that same situation on the river, but that's to be expected on rivers since they are constantly changing, and I already did the update also, so definetly do that with a micro sd card

Has anybody else had poor customer service with garmin. I ordered a new gt52hw-tm transducer back in april they told me it would not ship till june 4, disappointing but still I waited anxiously. June 4th arrived and they gave me a new ship date of sept. 6. WTH. This is an older model transducer that they should have in stock at all times or the very least be able to get it within a reasonable time frame.

thanks for info todd now can you answer one more for me? will the echomap plus have the ultra high def black box installed in unit in the future? Might save up for that one when I buy new head for bow.

hello guys, I'm in central Louisiana, I grew up bass fishing on local lakes including Toledo bend on the texas Louisiana border. I've always fished with others in there boats but I just recently got mine. I joined forum because I'm getting set up in electronics slowly but surely and just trying to get some knowledge and maybe share some if I can.

FYI on the contour mapping, when you run the mapping while fishing it eats battery pretty quick but It shuts its self off when it reaches about 10.5 or 11 volts. seems like I was getting about an hour and a half before it would shut its self off, I was worried had a bad unit till I realized what was happening. So now I use it while big engine is running that way it keeps enough power

I have done fair amount of research and I do believe that the cv isn't as clear a pic as the gt, and it is app to miss some things. I have the chirp 93sv at console and have just ordered another bail mount, powercord, and the gt52 to put up front and will move the head unit back and forth for now till I can afford another head unit. Garmin says it is compatible with my unit but I worry if the software of firmware will actually use the down element in the gt or just use it the same as the cv. When I get everything hooked up I will let you know
