  1. Lincoln Woods has nice trout fishing and a boat launch
  2. Just one thing to remember about baitcasters...the more you spend on one..the better the reel..a good quality 160 dollar range baitcast cast reel when set correctly will not backlash unless you are throwing into a really wind. Now a cheaper baitcaster will backlash occasionally regardless of the setting..I'm sorry I meant professional overrun..not backlash.. I like a 7' to 7'6" medium heavy rod with 65 lb power pro braid..5/0 gamakatsu superline hook and currently I am using a Johnny Morris signature series backcaster that they just dropped the prices to 119.00...I have 5 I bought last year..great reel..now a great price too. If you are wondering why only amedium heavy rod..it is becasue of the braid..I had lost alot of fish in the past with a heavy action from hooks tearing out when the fish makes a sudden run in the pads..
  3. Well I had job when I was age and saved up to buy "fancy" equipment and still managed to do my school work, play sports and fish. I had my first boat at age 17 and fished my tournament at 18. Its all about desire and commitment. You sadly mistaken if you think a tackle company or other sponsor is just going to give a bunch of free stuff to people who have not done anything. I know some junior bass masters who have worked their butts off and it has paid off for them with sponsors. If you want something bad enough, you need to WORK for it
  4. I know I cared ande followed it. One of my friends has fished the co-angler side since it started and has told me on numerous occasions how great it was. This was about the almighty dollar and thats it. The day any of the other trails do not meet the projected profit margin you will see them meet the same fate. ESPN does not care about anything other than their bottom line...period
  5. all i can say is thank you everyone for not wasting my time looking at your spots cuz now i got one thats all to myself lol Is this how you thank you to the members for any information given? What happened to trade or share your knowledge???? Kind of a one way street...I know hundreds of spots on Champlain. I will not share them with you because of the way you have already acted......
  6. You are not going to see fish on your fish finder in shallow water so don't waste your time. The cone angle is too small and you cover very little area under the boat. The only one that works shallow is the humminbird side finders. If most of the fish you are marking in deep water are not on the bottom or close to than they are probable inactive fish so catching them will not be easy. As for fish South Wattuppa, fish as far south as you can go at the pond. The cove at the farthest south end is usaully the best this time of year. The cove behind the island directly across from the ramp is good also, as is the rock walls on the back side of the island. Be very careful there, there is alot of rocks just under the water that can tear up a boat in a hurry. Jigs, spinnerbaits and senko will catch them shallow. Good luck
  7. I fish it both casted and vertcally depending on the situation. For deep boulders, I like to get over them and drop shot the sides vertically. Whenever I find baitfish deep with bass around them I will always fish them vertically. If I am fishing under 15-18 feet of water I usaully cast it out and let sit with a tight line for a minute, then work it back a few inches at a time. Experiment with retrieves, different one work on different days. Some days you don't work it at all, just drag it slowly back to the boat...let the fish tell you what they want
  8. I have had my bassbag for 8 years and it still doesn't leak...great bag.
  9. I love Wordens this time of year.....Pike and bass are out of control in the shallow reeds..
  10. Go to lake Cobboseecontee in Maine for the best Largemouth fishing in the northeast. They have cabin rentals...I can get you a number if you are interested... Winni can be very difficult this time of year...plus alot of tournaments
  11. Ok first step, buy a Good map when you get there. Smallmouth spots.. Weedbed next to Gun island all the way out to buoy 13 Weedbed surrounding Twin islands...some years it will go all the way to Gun island Hemlock Cove and Ambrose Cove..sit outside of cove and fish weedbed In front of and on the right side of Spectacle Island Front side of Whortleberry island deep weedbed Entrance of the shoal named the Hurricane Entrance of the shola named the Graveyard Look for broadleaf cabbage beds at both Chase point If you are sitting at Chase point motor slowly towards Hole in the Wall and abot 1/3 of the way you will a hump with weeds. Shallowest spot is 8 feet good all the way out to 20 Between buoy 77 and 9 at Sandy island back of Sandy island Outside weedline at Melvin Bay Pretty much stop at any Marker buoy and fish...they hold fish at one time or another.. Best baits....Carolina rigged lizards, Greep pumpkin,Watermelon, Pumpkin/Chart tail Grubs, tubes, Hula grubs and All chart.spinnerbait reeled at fast as you can with out breaking surface. Sometimes a firetiger spook cast as high as you can and let it just sit there for minute before working it. Largemouth.. Lee's mill greens basin any of the marinas buzzel cove in between islands that are close together Navigate with extreme caution...lots of boulders and ledges
  12. I have gotten several on a sebile magic swimmer...Have had alot follow a basstrix to the boat without touching it.
  13. Barlows #1 Janns #2 Ebay #3 Stamina #4
  14. I would say Power fishing.. I use finesse tactics to get 5 in the boat then switch to power tactics and usually cull all of them out.
  15. When I use a pork chunk I always rig it flat side up. When the chunk starts to get worn the ridge side will get a little white. This little bit of white flash when you lift the jig sometimes will produce a reaction bite..
