  1. He already did several days ago claiming over half fish caught will die
  2. Randy posted a video claiming a MLF buddy asked him to post a PSA that half the fish caught at St Lawrence River died and that Bass was going to kill even more this week. Blamed it on FFS of course. I have no idea how true any of it is but he always finds a way to hit the talking points. Been watching his politicians too much last 4 years 😂
  3. Both of my Zillions have paint chipping. I don’t care though. It’s a tool to catch bass and a mighty fine one.
  4. Everytime I kid my wife about another Amazon package (which we actually need) she quickly fires back that she could go to Target and buy it plus $100 in other things she doesn’t need.
  5. I own a lot of Falcons and have owned several zodiacs and expride. Shimanos action is very different and their tapers are pretty consistent across product lines. It’s going to be faster action than the Falcon. Falcon rods are nearly all out of stock or were last time I looked. Not sure what’s going on there…. If you are open to other brands there are a lot of good options in that $150 ish range. ALX and Ark both fish similar to Falcon. The Tatula line is solid. St Croix makes a great 6’8 mxf jerkbait rod in all their lineup. Just food for thought
  6. Look at the Daiwa coastal. It’s build really solid, holds a lot of line, and is salt proof. In general you’ll get a few more feet on average with Shimano over Daiwa but Daiwa has better cast control in the wind. You can’t go wrong with either but the salt is the X factor in your decision
  7. I don’t see anything alarming from the video. It’s scary but he didn’t do anything wrong. Just a freak deal to run over a floating object in the middle of a lake like Champlain. You can see the hull rise over it.
  8. My bad…must have been confused. I could have sworn they made a video about the legend tournament 610mxf a few years ago saying they were late to the St Croix party because they weren’t well known in California. I’ll hire a consultant to review my posts from now own…
  9. Also St Croix is way more popular up north than elsewhere. They are not in many boats down here and I remember tactical bassin saying nobody out west used them. They just tried their first ever St Croix 3 or 4 years ago
  10. I usually go to Shimanos website and pull the parts list and schematics. If they don’t have the part in stock I’ll just start googling the part numbers. I’ve never had many issues not being able to order directly from them though unless it was a very old model.
  11. Played a lot of wood ball back in the 2000s. Started with a tipman of course then upgraded to a nicer gun with the digital displays, long barrel, etc. I could hit a Gatorade bottle at 30 yards. I don’t recall the brand but it’s still around the house somewhere. It was a blast when life was simpler and time was abundant 😂
  12. An oversized kobalt needle nose and a regular sized one I picked up at Lowes
  13. The old Black Max was a good real but I’ve heard several folks say the new refresh model is lacking. A shame. The Black Max rod never impressed me. If you are willing to upgrade to rod in that $100-150 range you’ll never regret it. Lot of killer options in that price range from Falcon, Ark, ALX, Daiwa, and more.
  14. Snagged one. Been looking for a cheap reel to put on a small cranking rod I picked up recently.
  15. I went through several before settling on an Abu STX. It’s small enough to palm well but has enough line capacity and an incredibly strong drag stack
  16. My memory may be a little fuzzy but I’ve ordered 7 or so reels from Japan. Digitaka was by far the best experience. The price on their site is what is charged to my card. It’s my go to. Japan lure charged me $30 more than what their site said. When I asked PayPal they said it was my credit card company’s exchange rate. I think it was really JL had the wrong conversion on their site. It was a $550 order and they threw in a “free” jackhammer so it wasn’t the end of the world but worth noting. My first order was with Asian Portal. No complaints there but their website kind of sucks.
  17. Everyone should learn to throw a baitcaster on a $15 Walmart Shakespeare round reel from 1998. If you learn to cast it you can cast anything 😂 OP - don’t worry about the brakes. Reels differ. Users differ. If setting #9 works best for you then use it. After a while you may get comfortable enough to start adjusting it. Give it time.
  18. 7” curly tail 4/0 gamakatsu o’shaughnessy bend 1/8 oz tungsten 15lb Trilene 100% flourocarbon It just works. Always has and always will. Specifically to my lake it’s probably because the forage is small threadfin and bluegill. Fishing pressure is also high. And depth range is 0-10ft with main feeding activity in the 2-5ft range
  19. Maybe females aren’t as foolish to spend $100k to make $50k. 😂
  20. Trion was their flagship back in the 2000ish era. They made a good product back then. I still have a supreme laying around somewhere. Honestly speaking. For a professional to look over and fix the reel plus shipping you’d be better off going to Walmart and buying a cheap Abu or Lews for $40-50.
  21. For your style of fishing, what advantage does the 7’3 rod give you over a 7’ or 6’10 rod? What disadvantages? For a MH all purpose rod I don’t see any real advantage other than distance. There’s no need to throw spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, squarebills, worms, etc on anything over 7’. Just my simple opinion
  22. If you like Turkey give Russell’s 10 a try. It’s right around 45 bucks
  23. It’s a 200k mile change on the 2023 and up models. Biggest issues I’ve seen with it is it eats def and has to regen often and needs 30 min of driving over 50 or so to complete regen. I nearly bought one a few weeks ago before deciding to hold off
  24. As much as you tow across state lines the baby max may be the best option anyways
  25. I change my own as well. Full synthetic Valvoline or Pennsoil and am rocking at 185k miles. My point on the carfax was people who change it themselves aren’t going to do it themselves today and then pay someone else to do it next time. If there’s 27k miles on the vehicle and the service records show an oil change at 12k miles and 26k miles you better believe that’s the only 2 times it was changed. I have several friends who only change it once a year no matter how many miles are driven. I wouldn’t buy a push mower from them much less a car
