Have enjoyed bass fishing since the age of five. Grew up watching Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston. The passion hasn't changed. Love the thrill of the catch.
Spot-on for me as well @Catt. Plain green pumpkin doesn't work well for me. Use green pumpkin with blue or green pumpkin with purple and they both produce.
If you were limited to five soft plastic baits to fish for smallmouth and largemouth bass year-round, what five would you choose?
I would choose:
Yamamoto 5" Senko
Strike King Caffeine Shad
Strike King Rage Tail Menace
Strike King Rage Tail Space Monkey
Strike King Rage Tail Craw
My Grandpa and Bill Dance inspired me to fish. No one will ever top either of them in my world. As I've gotten older, others have inspired me at different times for different reasons. KVD, Gerald Swindle, Greg Hackney and Jacob Wheeler.
The latter, imo. The biggest factors are technique and confidence. Black with blue flake is the same thing for me @Catt Every once in a while, I've seen color matter. In one private body of water I fish, the color does seem to matter. That color, cinnamon purple.
