  1. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  2. I resurrected the thread, simply to state I shopped there the other day and they still had a great selection of baits. Sorry for the confusion for the new guys, but I didn't feel the need for another thread about same thing.
  3. @Coonedawg do you lose alot of lures or something? That's alot ?
  4. 1. Strike king here too. Crank baits, jigs, rage tails, topwater. Good products 2. Zoom soft plastics. 3. I do have a good selection of smithwick baits thought
  5. Thanks! I'm a duckett fan haha! Great rods
  6. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  7. So I was shopping at academy in Brunswick, Ga and they were loaded down with plenty of H20 lures, cranks, jerks, topwater, had em all. I bought a couple cranks and I must say, visually they are impressive. Great hooks, great quality, great paint. I hope they fish good as they look. At 3.99 a piece I will be purchasing some more!
  8. Wow I got this stuff spooled up today and it's not near as bad as I remember. The memory ain't bad as I remember either! I have high hopes for this mono!! By the way, can I tie a Palomar knot with mono?
  9. @ItsHardwick, if it pulls drag it's a dinosaur because if you give a bass slack they gonna wrap you up before you know it.
  10. Man all that CAPS LOCK makes me feel like your shouting. A little bold font goes a long way... ?
  11. To me those small hooks are crazy. The main river I fish is loaded with bowfin. My main Hook is thick wire 5/0 trokar, with 60lb braid. No way I could see using such small gear. I'm trying to downsize some to lighter line and 3/0 hooks. It's not unusual to bend out at least a pack of hooks in a day on the river. That goes for jigs too. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I catch plenty of fish? ? (Not trying to hijack thread)
  12. Sprayed grass is a really good color around here. Why such a small hook on the shakyhead setup? Usually I use a 3/0ewg with a split shot for shakyhead setup? My PB came off a zoom u-vibe with a toothpick pegged 1/2ounce lead bullet! T-rig is an all time favorite of mine. But these days I almost always have my weight pegged
  13. Let me be first to say, welcome!
  14. If you've thrown all that and no bass, I'd find somewhere else to fish. Do you bank fish or boat fish?
  15. Live bait or not whatever type of fishing you enjoy do it. I personally love floating live shrimp under Poppin corks... Or 2oz of lead holding a bream on the bottom of the river waiting on flatheads
  16. So I had a reel that neededsome new line. So when my shift was over I swung by Walmart. I got the usual couple packs of rage swimmers, SK senkos, even got a couple 2.50$ Plano trays. And then it happened. I seen the 30lb power pro. My pride and joy. Favorite line ever. Right below it, this stuff called 15lb big game trilene. Strangely enough I bought it. A whole 900yds of the stuff. I haven't used mono for 10yrs. Why now? Why did I buy it? I blame the old guys on bass resource...
  17. You got good taste @jbmaine
  18. Beautiful fish! Gotta love a jerkbait bite
  19. Itsy bitsy strike king square bill. Red craw. Flat wear out red breasts/panfish with them. Good ole white/red dot beetle spin is a classic I put a small grub body to change colors as well.
  20. X2 underspin will put off some flash and vibration in your chocolate milk lake. Clearish water I'd opt for just the jighead But, 33° water I'd try something a little more slower in presentation. Not saying you won't get bit, but don't limit yourself in tough conditions. If it was 60° water, yeah throw that keitech till your hearts content. But at least put a black and blue jig in your pocket when you go!
  21. Beautiful rod! Thank you for your service.
  22. @localhost I understand where your coming from, and it's really good that you realize you don't want to make the fish suffer only to please your narcissistic cause. That's why if you enjoy fishing, enjoy it well. Do your part when you catch fish to admire, photograph, and quick release. If it was traumatizing to the fish you couldn't go back to the same pond year after year and catch the same fish?! I like @Catt's response, they are food for us, like it or not though. That's something you must work out for yourself!
  23. Old combo my grandpa bass fished with!
  24. Thanks @Catt, that's the list I needed
