  1. Kvd slaps his handle while fishing jerkbaits Your in a good crowd @CrankFate ?
  2. 1. Jerkbait 2. Jig 3. Crankbaits 4. Trickworm shakyhead Those are my go to's for winter in Ga. Water clarity will dictate the color of the baits. But I'm gonna throw baits that I have confidence in until the bass refuse to munch on them! I don't mind the pond and lakes being stained, but I'm bout sick of the rivers being out of the banks. All this rain has ruined river fishing for awhile...
  3. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  4. Just fished yesterday, no bites on shakyhead, but wore em out on a jerkbait.
  5. Gotta love a jerkbait bite, even better when it's a bass like that! Nice fish man!
  6. Water temp was 55° and wind was howling, caught 27 overall, my dad smoked me on rapala jerkbait. But DT6 Demon won me big bass. Just a 10 acre pond full of stumps.
  7. Still praying
  8. Yep, work just fine. Make sure you clean em afterwords! Take pictures of your catches!
  9. I DS with 30lb braid on a baitcaster. I wouldnt call it finesse at all, just mainly a way to keep my worm above grass on bottom instead of T-rig. Call it what you want. It works. I fish it.
  10. I'm gonna try vinegar water mix w/ toothbrush and maybe put a dab of WD-40 on my split rinngs. I'll post some pictures in the Tomorrow of process! @Sam the baits are brand-new squarebills I've just got moisture in my box this past year. I don't mind replacing them, I just want to at least get some good use outta them!
  11. So either vinegar and water mix or toothpaste? I want to clean them up, remove the little bit of current rust and prevent it from coming back
  12. To me, a plastic worm is usually Texas rigged or wacky rigged and retrieved in mid water column Your definition of T-rig is different than mine. I consider it to drag the bottom like a jig. So for me a jig and worm rod is the same. 3/8 ounce is the same wether I'm dragging a jig or a worm. I have a rod dedicated for flukes/senkos. So we must agree on a definition of a "worm" rod
  13. I have some crankbaits and jerkbaits that have some rust on them. I'm changing the hooks, but would it be alright to spray the swivels and bait with WD-40 to clean it and remove/stop the rust? I guess I'm just worried, I don't want the fish to smell wd-40 and run away
  14. Lew's, Abu, Duckett, Dobyns, unmentionable brand. I'm not brand loyal at all. If it fits my need and is within my price range, I'm using it.
  15. YA FILTHY ANIMAL
  16. I like M 6'6 for topwater, especially poppers etc...
  17. Baby bass
  18. River rat, I have fished the Ohoopee and Ocmulgee a couple times as well. Gotta love Ga river bass! ?
  19. I agree, so jealous of that big water with schools and schools of bass. I'm stuck jumping stumps in the Altamaha River! I have been to Clark's hill, put in at Elijah Clark state park. So weird to fish, virtually no bank structure and blue back herring. Way out of my element. Lanier is on my to-fish list for largemouth and Allatoona for Spots. I fish the Satilla river, Suwanee river, Altamha river, and St. Mary's river.
  20. If you fish river systems I'm another in the camp, more trolling motor you have the happier you'll be. Make the investment up front
  21. Aw man got trolled over here in the boating section. ?
  22. I vote carpet. Sound goes a looong way, and you don't want to spook the fish before you get to them. I built a deck and carpeted mine, nice and quiet. Use pressure treated wood and outdoor carpet and you can get a couple years out of it.
  23. I Snell 8/0 and 9/0 circle hooks for flatheads. That's bout it. We use live crappie, red breasts, warmouth, shell crackers, any panfish for bait.
