  1. Hey first Timer. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  2. And the Anglers that don't use snaps, wonder why anyone would waste the effort to use snaps..
  3. Ok, timeout. Bigger baits do not mean bigger bass. Let's clear up that misconception
  4. @Bluebasser86 I'm digging that spinner bait. I bet it's got plenty of thump, and I like copper blades. Nice work
  5. Soooo many guys throw merthiolate, bubblegum, and black zoom trick worms in my local rivers. And do great at it... I however have not caught on. Ive went to the river and carried nothing but hooks and worms to make myself learn. But, I've only managed a bass or 2. I've tried fishing senkos some, and have had better success with them weightless, but I've not mastered the weightless worm witchcraft. Only thing I can fish weightless with success is a fluke...
  6. 1/2oz War Eagle River Rat. Throw sucker tight in the cover and every eddy you can find! I like a baby fluke split tail trailer Any War Eagle product for that matter. Love the 5/16 Finesse spinnerbait
  7. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  8. Personnel preference. Painted blades, copper, nickel, gold. Whatever color helps you catch fish. Wether it's water clarity, finicky fish, etc.. There's no right or wrong choice, they all produce fish. It's just fine tuning so it produces more fish
  9. Just to keep the thread going, derail further, and beat the horse some more... Guys say "I don't care what people think about my stuff", okay I understand that to a point. But shouldn't you be proud of the gear you work hard to purchase, use, enjoy and own? Wether it be a 79.99 rod or a 499.99 rod. You bought it, it had certain qualities that you thought were above the rest. When I get a new rod, reel, baits, etc.. I show my fishing buddies. Joke around that it's gonna catch 3 fish to their 1, and so forth. All I'm saying is be proud of the gear you own, no matter how much it cost. On side note, kid held his own with a 11th place finish against a huge field of competitors. Pretty cool to see. Why didn't Thrift get an invite to MLF? He's been dominating FLW for some time
  10. 60lb PowerPro, lasts a long time. Side note, way to resurect a 6yr old thread ?
  11. But other fisherman do...
  12. @roadwarrior I like them but the skirt on the bait really ain't long enough to my liking. If it weren't for that I'd use them!
  13. At 4am sitting at work this gave me a good laugh. Many thanks my friend!
  14. Best idea. Purchase couple Shimano SLX for em, and you have a strong Combo Me personally, the 6'6 M would be a bit light for my style fishing. But the other 2 MH, keep em bro, and rip lips with em
  15. When you type LTBSAVESQ1 it links you to another code and applys it automatically. As of 12pm yesterday worked like a champ
  16. Welcome to Bass Resource. Great place to hang out with great fisherman.
  17. Zebco 33 combo, beetlespin. My dad had put the tail of a culprit worm on a hook and used a beetlespin spinner. Just a phosphate pit in the middle of a central Fla cowfield. I remember being scared of the cows watching us fish, 1993ish. Great memories. Enjoyed reading this thread BTW, my dad mounted the bass and I still have it on the wall. Maybe a 1lb dink. Best dink ever!
  18. @TOXIC I flat enjoy the MLF style, and I agree take away their electronics and they're (some) lost Give em a $100 Walmart Hummingbird and keep the fishing locations secret. Ditch the spot lock and power poles. In my book, MLF made Bass Fishing fun to watch again.
  19. @Glaucus if it works have at it haha. Ive watched the whopper plopper videos too. I have friends that fish with em, I just have my preferred topwater baits I throw! ?
  20. Balance is a big deal to some, to others it ain't. Opinions formed, feelings hurt, apologies made. Get on with it, throwing shade ain't gonna help. In before it's locked ?
  21. Im one of the few I believe that still use 6'6 rods haha. I mainly river fish, and don't need to bomb cast anything a mile, most if my targets are small and prefer accurate casts the 6'6 helps with. I have the old style 6'6 MH/F lightning rod(not shock) and I used it for topwater for a long time. Great rod, I don't see why the shock would be any different. Throwed alot of poppers and propbaits with it. Fluke fished too Only reason I upgraded was I got a Duckett Terex 6'6 MH/F at a steal. Just a little better quality rod. I still have that rod and have been tempted lately to put a reel on it
  22. I have a 7' MH and have countless bass with it. Great rod for the price. Only issue I had was I broke the tip off. Attached a new eye and back Fishing. Side note, that's the only rod my grandfather likes to redfish with. He's caught several nice bulls on em, he uses 7' MH as well. Again you'll hear nothing but Positive from me on that rod
