  1. Good pair of fish grips on the deck, will handle most all your problems!
  2. @TnRiver46 man what a nice striper!
  3. Having fished teneroc before, I think your biggest hurdle to cross is the lack of a boat/kayak Those banks typically see a good bit of pressure, and bass tend to steer clear of them. Doubtful it's your baits or techniques, most bass in that area are post spawn. Maybe like Mike said, try to venture out and fish different areas and ponds until you can get a boat/kayak.
  4. @Shifty06, I think I boils down to your personal preference. For me, the way and area I fish, a 6'6 or 7' MH/F would be just about as all around as it gets. I could fish about any of my go to baits with that stick. I don't even own a Medium rod! But from your post it sounds like your really looking for a M/F rod. Go to to closet store and pick up several rods, regardless of brand and see what you think! BTW, I sure love some panfishing myself!
  5. Where do you get small wire to tire on the skirts?
  6. I bought a 8:2:1 SLX reel for flipping, liked it so much bought another to replace a Lew's. Excellent budget reel, I don't know about the rods.
  7. Because he's the one that said he was gonna buy a 50$ lure. I was just trying to warn him of what "could" happen
  8. Easy, your on the bank and hang one up your swimming.
  9. Here my 2 pennies worth. You bank fish. You don't know the depth/structure of your pond. Are you willing to lose $50 swimbaits? Only you can answer that question. If you are, swimbait might right for you!
  10. Most of the time "finesse" will mean light tackle, light line, and subtle bait presentations, and again there's no wrong way to Bass fish! https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/finesse-worm-tips.html
  11. Flipping/Pitching Topwater Light crank/spinnerbait Heavy crank/spinnerbait
  12. DT-6 Demon. Solid producer SK Squarebills, mostly craw colors to bounce off stumps and trees in the river. Change them junk hooks out though
  13. Thanks for answering, i barely have any grass where I fish so that hasn't been a problem. Wire being fragile, yes I can agree to that, it can only bounce off so many trees haha! I haven't had a head come loose. I would like to try my hand at building my own, "Extreme River Series" editions haha! I do modify the 5/16 Finesse and it is top producer in sloughs and backwaters off my local rivers! Thanks again for your honesty opinion @BassWhole!
  14. For a size reference, how are the up next to a SK Rage craw? Buddy I was fishing with used Krackin Kraws from Googan, and the size profile seemed bigger, and better durability. I really don't want to buy Googan baits, but am looking for a SK replacement.
  15. Rivers tend to have more things to take into consideration. Example, you have to into account the current, recent rainfall (is it rising or falling), us it muddy or clear, is it tidal or man made (dam). I wouldn't say rivers are harder, but require a bit more effort. I flip bugs/creature baits in rivers all the time. It's a great bait, I usually peg my 1/2oz weight and try to get as close to the bank I as can. So to answer your question in general, yes, it's a good bait. But, if you could provide a few more details, as to river location and bank is boat, I'm sure guys on here could help you dial in your presentation a tad better My personal best river lures are simple, Red craw or fire tiger crankbait, usually a squarebill of some type Double Colorado Spinnerbait, Gold blades, white skirt Topwater Propbaits, either white or black. and My go to is Flipping a Creature bait. Lately it's a baby brush hog with a pegged punch skirt ?
  16. Care to elaborate as to why? All I practically throw is War Eagle and they do exceptionally well. But If there is something better out there, I really don't mind giving it a Shot!
  17. Exciting times in the Bass industry! Anxious to see what happens now!
  18. What does this mean for FLW if they did?
  19. Ain't nothing to add to this thread. Plenty of great info on here! Thanks to everyone who posted, this is definitely one of many great reasons to be on BassResource.com!
  20. I mainly river fish around tons of structure, current, bowfin, pickeral, to name a few. I can't afford to loose those vision 110, my choice is a Smithwick Rogue, floating and suspending
  21. That's a bummer because they don't list a MH/F 6'6. ?
  22. I have a 6'6 MH/F savvy series and absolutely love it. I used to fish all Duckett, but I'm sold on Dobyns. I was looking on Tackle Warehouse to purchase another identical rod but couldn't find it, did they stop making them?
  23. Nothing wrong with it at all, in fact I watch a lot of videos, read alot of articles, spend free time on here. I didn't mean it as insult or for you to keep it as one, my apologies. I went back and read it, in context of other posts around it, and it definitely could be took wrong. I do agree with you, using bigger DOES eliminate majority of smaller bites. I just didn't want the misconception that only bigger baits catch big bass. All baits have the potential of catching a big bass. It's right location, right time, right fish. And again, I apologise if the post was taken wrong. I was typing it with a lol in my mind!
