  1. @Log Catcher, nope your not the only one. He posts up too many pictures of big Bass for me not to listen. Fella might be 1000miles away but I do take notes! ?
  2. Basically fishing a dropshot on heavy braid gear, unlike a dropshot with 1/0 hooks and tiny line. My rig is 5/16 bell weight, with 4/0ewg tied about 1.5' from weight on 30lb PowerPro. You can use any worm, creature, or craw. Cast out, hold you line tight, with very subtle rod tip movements. Move bait about 1ft and hold line tight again. Glenn has a good video on it I'll try to post it up
  3. 5/16 War Eagle Finesse Spinnerbait has been responsible for a ton of my bass this year already.
  4. Pretty much 3 colors for me, Junebug when it's muddy, watermelon red when it's clear, electric blue when it's in between.
  5. After another thread where A-jay talked me into 6th Sense, I purchased a few. My SK's are basically 3-4 trip lures and they get trashed and that's even after changing the hooks. I've come to accept that. Well tried one of my new 6th Sense cranks, and they run great and catch fish. That was to be expected, and I didn't have to change hooks after the second fish. Here's a picture of the one I threw, it's a crush 50 I believe, this is a picture after 1 trip. It produced several Bass, and several bowfin(mudfish). One bowfin was pushing 10lbs, true giant of a trash fish. Overall, I'll likely purchase more. I'll include a few on each tacklewarehouse order. Very happy customer
  6. Black Zoom Horny Toad. Love em.
  7. My reply is vague, but you OP says you spend a decent amount of time on the water. Well what rods do you already have and fish with? LMB, SMB? Boat, bank? Spinning, casting? Few more details will help to have a more specific answer No matter what, trying to have a all around rod will always be a compromise somewhere.
  8. @greentrout that's the ZO2 model, just a step up from the micro, all I have is positive things to say about it!
  9. My favorite is usually having the whole place to yourself, bout 2am, clear skies, half-lit moon. I enjoy hog hunting with dogs as well, and those still cool nights are the best.
  10. While your waiting for dobyns to come out with one I use a Zebco Omega panfish setups. This one has 6lb Trilene XL and can handle big fish when needed to. Highly recommend, when dobyns does finally come out with a panfishing rod, like you I want to try one out!
  11. Call me a river rat, but my fishing attire is shorts and a hat. Fish don't seem to mind
  12. Don't be afraid to throw topwater midday either.
  13. We've already been pulling all nighters running bush hooks for flatheads. Nothing like building a good fire on a sandbar, checking lines every 2 hrs, and catching channel cats off the sandbars. Rarely do I Bass fish at night, but I sure do night fish. Working swing shift kinda gets you in shape for it.
  14. I haven't told the guy no yet, but that's my leaning. I 90% river fish, so it wouldn't be used that much right now. The wife and I are purchasing a camper next year and I want a yak to take with us so I can fish while we travel, so even though it's a good deal, I'd rather wait and purchase a qaulity yak sometime by next year. I do appreciate all the responses.
  15. So ever since buying my cavitrons, I'm hooked. I've always been a popper fanboy and propbaits. And I still have one rigged up at all times but... I have been flat wearing them out with my gold blade, 3/8, chartreuse cavitron. I caught em pond fishing, but they have been shining in my local rivers. Throwing them first light and shady spots middle of the day. No trailer, just a bulky skirt works good for me, trailer hook when I'm fishing in boat, no trailer when I'm walking Creeks. Thanks Bass Resource for opening my eyes to a style of fishing I've been missing out on!
  16. I guess I'm thinking lots of vegetation on the edges, how's the bottom in the deeper parts? Slimy too? One trick I've done bank fishing, if there's grass/muck on bottom do the "bubba"shot or PowerShot method, keeps your bait up and out of the muck on the bottom.
  17. I seen the pictures before I read the caption and was gonna comment on that jacket!!! ?
  18. I have a boat, so it's not really going to open up a new world, it just seemed like a good price. I'm the kinda guy when a good deal comes along I like to invest! Sometimes I fish smaller ponds with no ramp and I put my boat in just fine, just would be easier to launch a yak. Thanks for the answers fellas, I think I've made my decision
  19. Neither fish are worthy of a swim? Am I missing something?
  20. So I've never fished out of a kayak, and have always wanted to try out the whole kayak fishing scene. Guy at work selling a brand new Ascend 12T for $350. Is it a decent kayak? Should I wait and purchase a better one? Just kinda wanted some reviews, don't want to waste my money on a sub par yak. I'd fish ponds and saltwater Creeks with it
  21. Throw a weightless fluke around the banks (parallel), fish it through the slime vegetation. Throwing out towards the middle I'd opt for a 5/16-3/8 Spinnerbait, something to cover water that won't snag bad. After you try those, toss a T-rig with your favorite worm. Start out simple, don't over think it. Definitely way past post spawn in Fla, +90° days already, Bass will most likely be buried in vegetation. Small ponds water depth will doubtfully be an issue.
