  1. @Bluebasser86- Ned rig and shakyhead in 30+mph winds? That's tough but looks like it was well worth the effort!! Nice Fish!!
  2. http://www.omfishingsinkers.com/
  3. Baby bass flukes and rogues killa for me
  4. Imagine if you were surrounded by glass..
  5. That's awesome. Enjoy hearing about this.
  6. @the reel ess- Are you a firm believer in a snelled knot on a punch rig now? Just curious that's all ?
  7. I hope never. Traditional has worked all these years. Hope they dont change a good thing
  8. @Dangerfield Thanks, didnt know you could join more than 1 Group. ?
  9. Snug as a bug, usually 2-3 bobber stops so it dont slide w 1.5oz or so. I'm not a huge fan of punching mats, not my favorite style of fishing, but if that's what's catching them. Just give it a dangle ??
  10. Definitely the rear, it would stay hung and hit the body on a crank. To me it does similar to what a feathered treble would do. And for what's it's worth I add feathers to some of my cranks to give the bait a little bit bigger profile. Only thing I caution is adding "too much" to a lure that already has plenty of action. Like a sqaurebill beating structure- not really needed. But fishing a drop off with say a DT-10 in open water, then I could see adding it
  11. Since you don't fish with them much or at all, I suggest go to local store and handle some rods and reels and get a feel for what you would be comfortable with. Or take a buddy fishing that has some and use his/her's, it's a completely different world throwing a 1/8 shaky head or Ned setup then KVD powerfishing your local lake. Just saying. Dont invest $300+ into a combo you might try once or twice and never pick up again.
  12. Watch all of last year's tournaments and you'll get a better understanding of different anglers. That's your homework for next week
  13. I use a 7'3 Heavy for Jigs/worms. I enjoy mine, Budget friendly Duckett Ghost. 6'6 MH/F for Frog. Bit lighter than most
  14. Side note: Beautiful place to fish.
  15. Was, at one time, but mainly spotted bass fishery with some Largies still in the mix. I was there for the AOY tourney, favorite vacation place for me and the wife. Never caught a smallmouth, maybe there is one stray left. I would definitely like to see what the fuss is all about. ?
  16. Simple answer, which is an opinionated one, yes. You are wasting your time cutting off the hook guards. Why not buy jigs without the hook guard? Save the ones with for cover.
  17. April, kayak, hmmm. No brainer, look for Dem bedz ? @Hook2Jaw I'll be on Lake Chatuge in April doing the same lol (not winning a KBF tourney of course)
  18. Few minutes of searching.... https://www.southernfishing.com/current-fishing-report/lake-lanier-fishing-report.html
  19. When did Lanier get smallmouth, or did you place this in the wrong section?
  20. Have you checked local reports? Where/How are you fishing? Deep, shallow, yak, boat, bank? Targetting spots or Largies? Give some more details and we can help you more.
  21. You still getting it done @TnRiver46!!
  22. Looks good, were you planning on using a foot controlled trolling motor up front? Looking at lid I'm assuming not. Great craftsmanship though! ??
  23. I read all of that, assuming you was getting to a point..... Lol
  24. Maybe, but I'm watching the weather to see what the bass do. Each of em has their strong points. St.Johns is one of my absolute favorite fisheries.
  25. I fish a muddy river pretty often, and let's just say black crankbaits get throwed quite regularly. Also change skirts on my War Eagles to Black. Dont be afraid to throw black.
