  3. I'm looking into buying some scrounger heads. Since chatterbaits have continued to improve are they better? what makes a scrounger so different? Yup I resurrected an old thread, yadda yada
  4. Black and blue stick baits Speed worms Propbaits Black blue chatterbaits Watermelon red flukes Black frogs Start there.
  5. So dropping your bait down a 8" hole is fun? Again why not give yourself room to work? Am I missing something beneficial about a small hole?
  6. So describe to us your rod and reel, and the bait your throwing in more detail. That way we can help you more. Fluke on spinning rod is a generic answer. Brand, length, power, hook/bait etc.. If your losing fish on what your describing the guys here are right, something's off kilter
  7. Spend as much time on the water as you can
  8. Dumb question. But why not make your holes bigger? I've never understood why yall keep the holes so small..
  9. @Hook2Jaw Awesome write up. Felt like I was there with you! You made BassResource brethren proud! Fight to the end to beat that skunk. Congrats on the tourney bro!
  10. Super random question in a completely irrelevant thread. But, yeah, fish your heart out bud. 12lb "flouro is fine for any 3/8oz bait
  11. Went today and caught over a dozen, biggest went 13" The wind was so stinking bad we trolled minnows around the dam. Love the crappies Bobby Garland is the secret. I like Limit Tackle on facebook, great baits
  12. I just bought a 1/16 white rooster tail like 2 days ago. So I totally get it ? It's just there are so many other "good" baits, that are more specific in certain circumstances that the rooster tail gets passed over. ?
  13. So, if anybody likes catching slab crappie, prespawn and spawn are some great time to catch the largest slabs. Not only do I like to Bass fish, I also flat enjoy crappie. So with that in mind, anybody want to share secrets, tips, and tricks that they like to use for crappie?! ?
  14. Sounds like they still bite good! Maybe next time I visit family I need to slip a quick trip ?
  15. I always catch bigger fish on solo trips ?
  16. What pit? I grew up fishing Teneroc. I remember one day bass were schooling shad all day, never put down a white popper. Easy 100+ days. Pit B, back around 2000'ish
  17. That was a good read, what a night!
  18. Theres no limit to what colors you can throw. I fish tannic water ALL the time, I've caught them on tequila sunrise, red shad, white, methiolate, junebug, watermelon red, pumpkin, black and blue, raspberry, electric blue, and the list goes on and on. Basically, try different colors and experiment with baits. Theres no right or wrong. It's all trial and error. That's why we fish ??
  19. For all those concerned, first load of bass were successfully transplanted ? Doing my part to make my local fisheries healthier ?
  20. No less than 30lb on casting. If lower you usually start running into issues
  21. I fish with prop baits ALOT! Huge fan of them. That being said, I do use mono, 15lb big game and i tie a palomar knot. I've never lost a bait or bass. That being said I might tomorrow but, until then that's my setup
  22. They work. That simple. Junebug GY senko is flat out ????
  23. @the reel ess - Yes sir, most of the pits were found in the middle of cow fields after they had strip mined it. Perfect conditions to grow Big Fla bass. Bill was wise to that and used it to his advantage and for that I applaud him! My dad and uncle helped managed some cattle and fixed and ran fence for several ranchers and that's how we gained access. We were the only ones who had permission to fish them. Oh the story's and memories I have from those pits, most wouldn't believe them ? After going back to visit family over the years the cow fields are subdivisions (housing) and the ponds/lakes are growed over. That's progress though
