  1. It’s a 6’10 MH xf with a kast king assassin.
  2. Yeah it is. For now though it will have to do lol. It’s cheaper to buy line than a 2nd rod/reel combo.
  3. Hey BR, The time is coming soon when I will need to rebuy line. Now that I have some experience under my belt I’m curious to see what y’all say. I’ve got 1 rod 1 reel I’m going to be throwing everything on it (except for finesse stuff) from top water to Carolina rigging. I’m going to be throwing into all sorts of cover, brush, grass mats, lay downs you name it. What line are you going to spool up and why?
  4. so stiffer meaning wont get hung up as bad but also makes it harder for hook sets?
  5. Hey Br, In terms of trimming your weedguard, what do yall tend to do with it, thin it out? fan it out? cut it shorter? What is the standard for trimming up a weedguard right out of the pack? I fish a lot of little/new ponds so I never know what I will be throwing into so I am always afraid to mess with the weedguard. However I noticed yesterday I was getting hook ups like I should so I am thinking maybe the weedguard does need to be trimmed some. Should I trim it at all or should I leave it? I don't want to trim it to much and risk it getting hung up, jigs dont grow on trees :p
  6. Before I knew any better I bought a big spool of trilene xl smooth cast in #12. I’ve only used it to fill up one reel. I mainly use 15lb pline cxx and I don’t see me changing anytime soon. If I do I’d probably move to another copoly, braid or flouro. What do y’all do with spools you don’t plan to use? Sell it? Give it away?
  7. I assume this is a kayak/boat solution? Id love for someone to have a solution for getting unsnagged when fishing from the bank.
  8. Hey BR, I have only been bass fishing for a few months I am not sure what it is in me but every time I go to my local lake I feel like I have to catch some. I treat it like its a tournament ( I know its silly) even though I never even been in one. I get so honed in on what I have to do to catch some that sometimes its not as fun as I would like it to be. However it isn't something I feel I can help all the time like I know there are bass there I have a rough idea of where there at I should be able to catch them any given day. At least that is what I think, then Ill get a lure hung up on top of not catching any or getting any bites and its just a bad time all around. What are some of the things that yall do to take the pressure off of having to catch them or just tips to focus on having more fun despite how many bites I get or the lack of bites.
  9. what about pouring your own plastics? Im afraid I dont have the space or anything to get into pouring my own jig heads but i figure pouring plastics might be doable in the kitchen lol?
  10. One day lol. I have a daiwa Alexa rod and I love it. I’d like to get a tatula but can’t afford one at the moment. So till then i just gotta work with what I’ve got lol I cleaned up the line guide I noticed the pawl is kinda loose is it suppose to be that way? I tried to tighten it some but it didn’t seem to want to tighten up all the way. I’m going to respool and grease the worm gear tomorrow hopefully that will help
  11. I have only had it for a few months and I am probably a little to hard on it but all things considered I still really like it for the $$$ I paid. However I am having a few issues with my KastKing Assassin I do not think it is anything major probably something more experienced people have had issues with and know simple fixes for. My first issue is line tends to spool up more on one side then the other, even if I respool it only fixes it temporarily. My other issue just happened recently but the little metal insert in the line guide has come loose and sometimes if I pull my line or cast to hard it pops out and hits the first eye on my rod. I am thinking some super glue will fix this? However I wanted to get some feedback before I played doctor on my reel.
  12. Nice I really like there prices. If my math is on it’d cost ~ 2.50 per jig with shipping. That would make dealing with getting one snagged much easier than 5-7 dollars per jig lol.
  13. so TW is where you mainly get your jig heads?
  14. @A-Jay @Munkin @cgolf if I start to try to make my own where do I start from, like where do y’all buy the skirts/jig heads at?
  15. Do you find it cheaper to make your own jigs?
