  1. Thanks Scott. I’m not set on staying with the lil magnum as my swim jig but do feel like it might be able to do both with it. I love the lethal weapon 4 swim jigs but they don’t come in 3/4 and this lil magnum works great for pitiching. I do wish you could still get revenge swim jigs. We shall see how it works. Does anybody pitch a swim jig with a swim bait trailer just like they’d flip a craw? I imagine many do
  2. Think heat of the summer Canada. Deep milfol mixed with other grass. Some pockets of grass types all the way to surface but there’s lots of drop offs as deep as 12-14 ft. What jog color are you throwing ? More dark green pumpkins or do you like a little chartreuse and white? Or, is it too irrelevant and thus I’ll just buy green pumpkin. These will like be pitched in 1/2 & 3/4 into pockets, edges and swam in and out with something like a smaller d walker, craw or even straight tail. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Beast_Coast_Tungsten_Lil_Magnum_Jig/descpage-LMJ.html
  3. You can get away with as light as a regular old zillion g from Japan (6.2oz) as long as you’re using 18lb or less flouro or braid leader. The chad shad is easy to throw. could use anything , slx xt, curado 150, met, tatula 100, 150, Nothing special needed. I love the 73xh Exprides and have several of them. With that said, I do think the rod is slightly over powered for any treble hook. You’ll likely bend out the hooks pretty easily. I added a few 7’7 heavy exprides to my line up because they can do anything. They are awesome for frogging but are soft enough to throw anything . I really like throwing the chad shad on the 7’7 h with a zillion g with either 16-18 lb shooter or 50lb braid to 20-25 (16-20 normal diameter) gold label leader. With braid to leader on moving baits I like to throw something smooth such as 131 or silent braid
  4. Me too. The casting models are meh to me. 7.6 oz Antares… aldebaran still holds too little line. And we gained a half ounce in weight on the Aldebaran over the current usdm model for less line capacity and a dc that isn’t really needed. I’m cranky and I know they are different markets: I guess I just hoped for something that fit my needs. To me this is easily decided in the weight of the reel thus the rod you were putting it on. The Antares weighes two full ounces more than the Steez. That’s like comparing the Aldebaran to the Bantam.
  5. 73xh expride, can be used for flipping and ripping swim jigs too
  6. Do what you’d like! There are no rules, includes those people saying you need a take of a reel to fish heavy cover. Do what you’d like
  7. I don’t believe so. This is the middle gen. Newest ones are different Correct It is a great spinnerbait rod. Problem is, I have two conquest 844c’s that also make great moving bait rods.
  8. Daiwa has a sweet zillion ten speed that looks great. I just got so used to pitching with a 5.5oz reel I don’t want to go back to 7.6oz
  9. Im waning to compare these rods, because after thinking about it, and wanting to get rid of my 7.3 Medium Heavy in favor of the NRX Plus 873 CRR, I started to think about the blanks themselves, and how different of a rod that they must be. The Adrena 7.3 is the same length as the NRX. It is very light, while the NRX is probably slightly lighter. The NRX will be slightly more sensitive, but the Adrena you certainly aren't missing bites from a sensitivity perspective. And the real seat on the Adrena and the NRX are great. I’ve always struggled to keep the adrena in my hands but that’s because Im lucky enough to have other great combos. I suppose that just means if I were to trade up to the NRX that a different combo would get more idle time. Does anybody have any experience with fishing both of these rods, or know if the 873 is that much different than the Poison Adrena 7.3 Medium Heavy? Is maybe the NRX has a little more backbone? Let me know your thoughts.
  10. Where did you get that revenge spinnerbait
  11. Had a xx emtf for years and never had an issue. Fantastic rod
  12. That balance is a great point. Between the lightness of the rod, the balance, and the awesome reel seat it really is a fantastic rod.
  13. Neither, kistler when they had nfc, now take your money elsewhere
  14. Thanks Did you guys ever find a reel that you lived on it? I fished an Aldebaran mgl on mine for awhile but i ultimately sold it due to line capacity
  15. A power shot does not act the same in my heavy grass
  16. If you fish heavy grass you’ll never go back to one.
  17. While I think the gen two has a soft tip making it great for moving baits it’s got plenty of backbone to set the hook on a jig or Texas rig. Anymore fast turns it into to your point an exclusive jig rod.
  18. Dual ninja or bust. I could never go back. I keep spares when I go on long trips just in case.
  19. I own one, at one point owned two. I’ve always loved the balance.c overall lightness and how small the reel set feels. Admittedly, I’m lucky enough to have nicer rods that my nicest reels sit on so I’ve not found the one for this. At the same time, I’ve always found it difficult to keep this rod in my hand because it’s not specific and most of my other rods I’ve got uses for. So what do you use it for? What reel do you love on it ? Speaking about the gen 2, the one right before this new one.
  20. I agree in wanting a ct sized reel with a bigger spool. I too have several alphas and while I think they are an amazing deal, especially needing a skipping or light pitching reel I love the ct frame far more. That loongze reel and the baites look like a slightly smaller version off the alphas and while I like that it’s small I don’t love the ergonomics. It’s almost too flat but then has sides whereas the ct just disappears in the the palm of your hand.
