  1. I like my Nocqua 12v 10ah pro power kit. I'll probably end up adding a second one as a spare.
  2. 2.99? Oh boy.
  3. You got the mono to braid not wrong, that's an FG. ?
  4. Yessir. I like to use it for topwater applications. I'm planning on giving a spool of Sunline FC Sniper or Assassin a go on crankbait setups, specifically my 8'+ cranks because I'm looking to drop down to 10# on deeper baits and I'm hoping the premium fluoro will help.
  5. I've been thinking of upping the quality of my fluoro and mono setups, but using cheap Berkley Big Game as backing to save a penny. How do I tie mono to mono or fluoro?
  6. @Glenn, got any stickers?
  7. You can have four days of fishing with those guys for about 3k. I plan to do so the year after next.
  8. I'll give some a go. My best days on Juliette, which seems very similar to Menderchuck, have been on a spook style bait. The spots come up out of 40' of water and wallop it. I wonder how many more would bite if they didn't have to fully expose themselves.
  9. Is said unit viable in clear water?
  10. Whatchu throwing these on, @A-Jay? I'm guessing a Medium Heavy stick, but I've always found them interesting and I think spotted bass as well as stripers on my beloved Juliette will annihilate them.
  11. Begone with your canoes, Googanquoise Indians! Worse than jetskiers, oaring around in your tubs and ruining all the daggum fishing for the kayaks.
  12. This is a tough one. I would take a look at the Feelfree Moken 12.5 v2. The original Moken 12.5 paddled well and kept up with Hobie Mirage Drives, I've seen it in action and was impressed with the original. The only complaint I ever heard was the wet bottom, but now the seat is elevated. I would call Feelfree and see if the EZ Rider seat is up to the task. I would also look at the 3 Waters Big Fish 120. I would once again make sure the seat is up to the task. 3 Waters is made by Feelfree. Other options are the Vibe SG130 and the Perception Pescador 120 in that price range.
  13. BPS XPS Fluorocarbon is decent line. I haven't tried their braid. I'm sure their mono is fine. Their branded baits, in my opinion, aren't great. I agree wholeheartedly. The only inhouse brand of bait I touch is H2O Xpress by Academy, and I touch them a lot.
  14. That one is too far and I'm cutting my teeth on the KBF Opens. If I do well, I'm liable to try FLW, BASS, and Hobie BOS next year.
  15. I don't think any of the rod and reels I want are there or in the trade in program. I like the line deal.
  16. Y'all put them little fellers back and come to South Georgia and watch a gator swim off with your frog. It'll take you six hours of labor down here to afford another.
  17. Shoot, select Berkley baits 33% off doesn't hurt my feelings at all. I haven't lost either of the two Choppo 90s I bought last year and they've punched well above being a 6 dollar WP replacement. Time to have two more. I also need to respool nearly everything, so the buy two get one free line deal should save me some dollars. Plus, my kid really likes to look at the fish tank.
  18. What vehicle? If you have a pickup truck with a 5.5'+ bed you'll have no trouble carrying even a 13' boat. My suggestion is the Native Watercraft Manta Ray Propel. 12', 70#, stable enough to stand and sleek enough to cut water. The drive has a proven track record. Transducer recess under the hull, a nice seat, tons of track mounts and plenty of access to the inside of the hull for 1600 bucks makes for a nice boat. It should paddle very well. Unless you're sticking your boats in a van, I think upping length without increasing(actually decreasing in this case) weight is the superior choice. That's just my two cents.
  19. About a month. It is fast for a kayak. The top speed I ever touched with a PA14 was 7.2mph, I managed to touch 8 the first day I had the Predator. It cruises at 4mph all day for me with extremely easy peddling. I'm hoping to get a Topwater 106 PDL for my son in about 5 years, if that lineup is around. Maybe Old Town will make a mini Predator between now and then. That Jackson is a sweet little boat. I like the look of the Native Watercraft Manta Ray Propel when it comes to a light pedal kayak.
  20. Looks like that new Okuma reels matching bait.
  21. @Tizi, I've been out about 10 times now in my Old Town Predator PDL. OT makes an awesome boat!
  22. I'm gonna prefish it starting Friday morning and try to be at my first spot by daylight, got about a 20 minute pedal. I have to be off the water around 3 to go to the captain's meeting. Thanks for the vote of confidence, brother. I've decided if my mindset isn't there to win it there's no reason in going, and I'm headed that way to cash a daggum check.
  23. Yeah, but good lord is the boat a tank and there's absolutely no way it can paddle well. I can't imagine facing any sort of current to return to a ramp with a broken drive. Then, you've got to deal with customer service and wait a week or more for a new Hydryve to arrive. I would rather go with the more proven drives on the market, be it a Mirage Drive, Native 701, or Old Town PDL drive. Being able to fish every weekend instead of saying my drive is down is worth way more than a few hundred dollars.
  24. @Delaware Valley Tackle, I hope so. Years ago Ehrler said that the XT was built from the same material the Tatula is, but I think that's been debunked. The reviews are excellent, however, so I'm hoping it's a 100 dollar gemstone. A lot of people break the tips on the casting rods from boat flipping fish, would that be indicative of a soft tip?
  25. We should start shortening rods as a side gig.
